Took a little siesta... Now it is time to thaw out a culture, fire up the PC & replenish my Head stash. Going to run a clone I took from a almost 400 gram wet 1st flush TP monster. Thinking a dozen or so bags and a tub or 2 should keep me  till July.

Got tired of putzing with swabs on agar and dealing with some genetics that seemed difficult to germ. got a bunch of plates to do transfers with and had a leftover swab so I made a bunch of jars with really diluted nutes, had no stir bars free so I used some glass opal things.
Used a sterile needle to flip strands of swab cotton into the jars.
Pitched any that had obvious contamination.
Far ahead of my agar plates now so I'll take some of the germinated material from the LC put it to agar and clean it up via transfers.
Obviously it's not clean but it sure gave me some distance out of the swab.
I don't know what MM this is, unfortunately. Got it from a member here but I don't believe they specified so I guess we will see.

Here are a couple ghetto total neglect shoe boxes thrown together from left over spawn & a couple grocery bags...
Not the best pics but with clean spawn even a cave man can get boomers with little to no effort.

Finally
Something to show after months of tranfers off a swab I received (thanks nate)
  
First tubs fruit had some funky growth on some of the caps(mycogone??)
Second tub looked & fared the best and grabbed a few fruits for clone material
3rd tub lagging a bit behind with also just a few fruits
Little different looking to some of the other images I see been posted with this variety but overall I'm just really happy to finally have some clones I can play with and try work on getting those big fatties I've seen .....

Posted in the strain crossing thread.
Melmak MS swab rubbed against a Averys swab on agar. Fruited on a small substrate. The sub does not appear to be contaminated so hopefully this is evidence of a successful cross. Took swabs to put on agar to grow out from an F1(?) and cloning the tissue. Hoping it is genetic.

I currently am getting ready to run a bag each of Averys, APE, RW & AA+ for spores as I wish to x with my TP Mak. Planning on being my project for the year. In no way would I have the time to stabilize anything but a solid F2 Iso of each would be cool to have on slant. Would be looking for a white, potent huge yeilding MAK

I just checked Chron's post.. Sexy ass fruit. Sparce tub tho with only 2 or 3 fruits. I am sure some serious work and a little luck would be required to find a bag bursting high BE monster iso.

Got a monotub full of mini tubs for clone hunting. This is from a Melmak swab I put on agar and transferred. So far out of all the minitubs these are the fastest but I can't tell if it's going to be Melmak dicks at this stage, to me it looks like plain old classic cubes so far.

This is what I mean by a monotub full of tubs. Works good for clone hunting IMHO by allowing certain genetics to dominate a sub but not an entire sub so I can see more variety, hopefully that is what I'm seeing when I do this. In my mind it makes sense.

My quickest TP culture runs 23 days like clockwork. 1 to 3 spawn ratio in bags. Others averaged 25 to 28 & none pushed past 30. MS was pretty spotty & inconsistent. Best off to run MS and clone hunt for monsters & traits that intrest you. I have some going now that were spawned on the 16th & are starting to fruit.
Other growers have pointed out how slow it is. That has not been my expierence at all. Ms, clones & Isolates have all ran quickly for me @ 72 degrees & 12/12 light cycle.
I sm quite sure their is multiple mak's & I have been quite unimpressed by some of the cultures that found me from other members. TP is king & when ya get it ya know ya got it.

Looks like I'm gonna be trying to get my hands on some TP swabs or cultures.
I need a producer of strong fruits for my and my friends consumption level.
These units were spawned 12/20, began knotting new years day give or take and began pinning January 2nd according to my photo uploads. So 13 days give or take to start fruiting. It's MS from a swab from a Shroomery member here so I'm hoping it grows into big beautiful fruits. I like the speed for sure.
