Hey all,
First post so please forgive any mistakes.
I did a batch using the Uncle Ben Tek with 3 mL of golden teachers spore solution. They started out great, transfered to a tub which quickly spread across the surface and I let it sit on fruiting conditions (no fresh air exchange and leaving the lid sealed) for 10 days. The top was had great mycelium growth going. But, two weeks later I only had 3 caps come up from the side of the tub (which I have harvested) and the few pins that came up along the top were black and blue (aborts?) and would not grow. I finally removed them and am going to flip the cake, soak over night and see if I can get any flushes out of it.
I am just not sure where I went wrong? I misted multiple times a day, kept lid mostly on, cut holes in tub which I covered with that special tape that allows air flow, and even did at least one session where I would over water it and then let a small desk fan sit on it to dry it out, then water again. Confused at to why the caps that came from the side of the tub then up grew great, and the rest bombed. The photos look pretty dry but that was after I decided to give up on them and try flushing the batch. I usually most before work, after work, then usually once twice before bed.
And tips, tricks, ideas or critiques would be greatly appreciated!

This whole sequence is wrong. Sounds like the harsh conditions (over-saturated to over-dry) led to aborts. Your side wasn't abused as much as your surface, and the conditions there were favorable, so some fruits came out as well as they could there.
1) Misting multiple times a day is, usually, too much. You can go the entire first flush without misting if you set it up right or, at the most, misting once a day.
2) Cut holes in the tub? We'd need to see that set up. Unless you really understand surface conditions, you shouldn't be making modifications to a tub. Use an unmodded tub and simply flip the lid for FAE.
3) Session where you would over water? Well that's not a good idea. You don't want to be throwing off your conditions by over watering or over drying and then going back to "normal". You want consistent conditions. Water beads on the surface, evaporation and then mist just enough for more water beads, then continue thus process.
You overcomplicated it.
Learn proper surface conditions here: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23999053
For your next go at it, ditch the "Uncle Ben" Tek.
Follow the P.F Tek to a "T"
P.F TEK: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24179086#24179086
Then, spawn them to bulk as seen here:

And do some more reading on cultivation in general.
