Don't get me wrong, they're good but they're small and thick shelled so there's a lot of waste and not much meat. They were fairly inexpensive 30-35 years ago, like $5-6 lb for frozen tails.

The best lobsters I've ever had were back before the embargo on South African lobster. Those were amazing, large and tender with beautiful color and the shells were thin. The tails were $17+ lb 35-40 years ago.

Oysters are the absolute shit. There was a place in Pittsburgh my roommate and I would go to on Sundays they did half off oysters until 4pm and $5 pitchers of beer. We'd eat like 50 of the fucking things each sometimes and split a couple pitchers. I could easily spend $100 before tip on eating oysters and drinks at a good oyster bar. The sheer variety makes them so fun to eat too.

It's called Merchant Oyster Co. I think there were one or two other oyster places but I never checked 'em out when I lived there.
