That's interesting, maybe I'll try to keep some plants alive next year without bringing them in.. I think adaptogens are typically stimulants? This is not. As I understand it, Leonurine is an Anti-depressant, (or Anti-depressant like) chemical that builds up in your system. Sorry if I was not clear..
"After 28 days of treatment with motherwort, 32 percent of participants showed a significant improvement in symptoms of anxiety and depression, while 48 percent of participants showed moderate improvement. There was also an improvement in blood pressure." (From verywellhealth.com)

Do you have a smartphone? There are free apps where you can photograph plants and it will show you the plant plus any look alikes. They are relatively accurate, and range in price from free to about $20. My fiance is recommending National Geographic Wildflowers of north America. I did read "Medicinal Herbs of the Appalachians" and it taught me faster drying techniques, but idk about using that as a handbook.
I also went to Invasive.org, I'm not so fond of these people, because they seem to demonize medicinal plants and advocating spraying herbicides on them, but they do have a handy list of herbs that can be found commonly in your area. That is how I originally found out Motherwort and other herbs grew here. I took the Liberty of pulling up KY for you. https://www.invasive.org/species/list.cfm?id=24

naw man, check out what adaptogens are, and they definitely have nothing to do with stimulants. Reishi mushroom is an adaptogen that I take, and that is far from a stimulant.

But hey, that is what this place is for, to learn new knowledge
I need to get a motherwort supplement if I can find one
But yeah, no smart phone buddy, I despise them, but those apps sound super helpful. Thanks for at least thinking about me
Also, thanks for that link, I'm going to check it out now

Bump on this thread, I'm doing a hot ethanol extraction on 20g of kanna. Going to see if that concentrates alkaloids enough to feel anything.

I am interested in California poppy, as a means to help prescribed people with their withdrawals, at the end of every month.
And, I am noticing, when I transplant it, even under ideal conditions, orange droplets come from the tap root.

Fermentation is supposed to be vital for kanna.
