Thanks, I'll take a look at that post.
I am not 100% sure about the sub, I just purchased this kit:
https://www.zamnesia.com/2049-mazatapec-supa-gro.html
Yeah it hasn't changed much in 3 weeks, so I am not sure if I gave it too much or too little water, or if the temps have been too low (it's been around 69-73F)

Hey man! The surface look dry imo, you should check out 'surface conditions' on the forum, there is excellent information regarding proper conditions for primordia to form, the surface needs to be covered with water beads, like really tiny droplets.

Nice. So since they most likely are too dry, do you think I should just spraying the bag with more water than before, and then pins will eventually start to appear? Even though it's already been sitting like this for 3 weeks

it does look kinda dry poke some holes in and spray the inside of a plastic bag and place it over.
skip the kit and switch over to agar work after this!

I've started giving it a bit more water throughout the day, but the surface hasn't really changed in the past week (this kit is now 4 weeks old)
What do you guys think could be the cause of this? And is there anything I can do to spawn some pins?

I'm seeing a lot of knots on that surface man! you should be getting pins in no time! But, it is still on the dry side, you should be applying light mists from 7-10 cm, dont spray directly on top, just let the mist to gently kiss the surface as it falls down. Good luck and keep this thread updated, I'm sure you will post some pins soon

Thanks, I am glad to hear that. I have been spraying the top sides of the bag probably closer than 7 cm, so I will try to increase the distance a bit.

Spray directly on top of the sub, not just the walls!

Yeah don't trust kit makers they don't know shit. You should honestly go out and buy all the needed equipment yourself. Kits are the worst. Designed to take your money. You want to start off with both BRF cakes and agar work. BRF will allow you to observe and understand colonization and consolidation. Agar work will allow you the opportunity to learn how to procure yourself a clean culture and start new generations via spore or clone.

Here it is a week later, and the kit is now about 6 weeks old. I have been spraying it more generously, but not a lot has changed.
What do you think about the current situation?
