Using 12 months old mycelium stored in a petri dish at room temp?

About 12 months ago, I've stored a few petri dishes of P. Mexicana mycelium at room temperatures. I wanted to see how long the mycelium will live. Surprisingly it's still alive and is sprouting tiny fruits within the petri dish itself.
I'm wondering if I can use this mycelium to inoculate new petri dishes, or would it be better to get a fresh start from spores, since the mycelium is quite old and was not refrigerated.
I'm assuming new run from spores might be more vigorous? Or is the fact that this being is still alive and fruiting in a petri dish, showing a trait worth preserving?
Thanks.

Pics help. But I think it's almost safe to assume that that culture must have lost a lot of vigor, I personally would start from spores, unless you want to do a kind of experiment or something.
Judging from what you said, the fact that that culture didn't produce stones in the plate nor grew mushrooms in all that time, makes me think it wasn't even an aggressive culture to begin with. If I didn't see pins or stones in a used plate within a few weeks I simply would not bother with that culture.

I've recently taken transfers from unrefrigerated plates I abandoned back in March. They were decent cultures at the time, lots of pinning and nice mycelium growth, and were pretty dry by the time I revived them! But they seem to be doing fine so far on soft-ish agar, and I'll be putting some to grain in the next week or so. At the same time, I'm also making new cultures from spores just in case these don't work out well. It hadn't occurred to me that mycelium might have lost vigor while sitting around, I thought new agar would give it a new lease of life, but we'll see how it goes.

It did produce mushrooms (fruits). One about 6 months ago, and one just recently when the room temperature changed a bit.

Thanks, it seems we'll be doing something similar. I'll transfer this old culture and start some new cultures from spores, just in case
