Do you believe them to all be the same species in the photos? Yeah, I was leaning toward the late oyster but want to be fully sure. I’ll spore print at least a few.

After checking this morning only one of the fruits dropped spores and they look to be white to me.

They all look like Sarcomyxa serotina to me. Used to be called Panellus serotinus.

There's a good video for id. Phyllotopsis nidulans is hairy, orange all over, and apparently foul smelling; that's likely the one look-alike to watch for. I believe there's a bit in the video about preparation if you plan on eating them; they're tougher than your average mushroom.

Learn your land has another helpful video on S. serotina (it isn't carcinogenic or toxic), but worth watching that one too.

I've seen areas where they are plentiful, but many of the older specimens I found this season were eaten by animals, so save some for them!

Thanks a lot for the info and video! They definitely don’t look like the lookalike you mentioned as well. Nor did they have a foul smell(was a bit wary of the ones which had more orangish yellow looking gills) but they all look to be the same species I agree. So I think it’s safe to say that they are sarcomyxa serotina. Excited to try and work with the stem butts I collected and dehydrate these babies for a winter stew.
