I'd say that maybe the virus would be a wakeup call for people to start taking better care of themselves, but most people I know are just drinking more and stress eating out of depression and boredom. I got into great shape during the lockdowns. Mostly to stay sane though, not really expecting it to help me fight off a coronavirus.

If this is something you can get multiple times how is a vaccine going to be effective? Somebody please explain how the body will react properly to a vaccine vs the real thing.

Out of millions of cases there are still an extremely small number of reported reinfections. Probably less than .00001%. Booster shots could always be given for the vaccine to remain effective.
Essentially with this mRNA vaccine you're injecting a script that causes cells in your body to manufacture a protein possessed by the virus. The body then spots the intruder protein and figures out how to eliminate it. Once it develops and mounts the immune response, it'll have antibodies and t-cells for defense and automatically respond that way in the future to that protein, which is specific to the virus.
What's not being reported on much is that there will be symptoms from the vaccine for a day or two for many people, as the body does its thing to rid itself of the intruder. Theoretically people who would've been asymptomatic if they got the virus likely wouldn't have any symptoms from the vaccine, but there's no way to know that and it's completely possible that for some people the vaccine will get them sicker than the virus. Most side effects are just a sore arm or a couple days of fatigue. There's no risk of viral infection from just the protein though, it's a different kind of vaccine than when they actually inject you with live virus pieces.

Vaccines tend to give a stronger and longer lasting immunity than natural infection despite sometimes needing more than a single dose. And the reaction to vaccine will obviously be more than extremely significantly better than the reactions to the actual disease. Heck the vaccine could outright kill 1 out of 10,000 people and it still would be statistically smarter than trying to do herd immunity.

lmao. I think you mean that one type of fungus is the source of penicillin.
even if shrooms were the world's best antibiotic, they would be useless against covid, which, it turns out, is not a bacteria.

My wife is a nurse and concerned the vaccine may cause nerve damage, she wants to wait to see how safe it is and will pull the pregnancy card if confronted.
I do not get flu shots because they make me more sick than the actual flu. I am a firefighter so if my work requires the covid vaccine I really don't have a choice, also of the belief that I had it in January.
I've been doing local testing and registration for 300-500 people per week for two months now (without eye protection) so I've definitely been exposed to it in high levels.
All my tests have come back negative but I've yet to get an antibody blood result. I'm worried about the virus as I have asthma and smoke cigars. I get a pneumonia shot that's good for 5-7 years.
Have to admit the vaccine sounds a hella lot safer than the disease.

Probably won't ever get it. I'm not anti vaccinations, just don't like shots. I'm not high risk so I don't think it's necessary. If all people who are high risk get vaccinated then I don't really care if I happen to get it knowing I wouldn't pass it to somebody who is high risk.
