A study in animals found that those which consumed 30% fewer calories could live up to 30% longer life spans.
Water fasting is a good and normal thing, the longest was done for over a year straight with medical supervision. How long have humans been around compared to these modern supermarkets and convenience stores where food is obtainable 24/7 without effort. Average human used to run on average several miles per day as the hunter gathers tracked and chased down prey, or foraged the landscape for edibles. This whole notion of three meals a day is not genuine, and is suited to line the pockets of all the corporations that sell you all the different food, for your three different meals. People used to eat when food was available.. okay, let's move on..
Exercise is important. Cardio, get that heart rate up. Take 220, minus your age, and aim to get your heart rate up to 60%+ of that number. Don't be those zombies in the gym walking on the treadmill while staring at their phones for hours, accomplishing absolutely zilch.
At it's core, weight loss is often described as this simple recipe: calorie deficit + patience.
I guess, study up on how to effectively/efficiently get the weight lost, then go for implementation strategies.
