First Jars! Third Week report

Hi! Wanted to see if I could get some feedback and expertise from this forum on my first attempt at growing Golden Teachers. Some details:
- First time grower! - I’m working with 12 jars, from a kit bought from Midwest Grow Kits. - Inoculated with the oven method. - During inoculation, two things happened: 1) I accidentally put too much spore solution in a few of them, simply due to the fact that I don’t operate syringes that often (stopper would be tight, I would try to slowly apply pressure, and then BAM – over 1cc goes out in just one hole…) 2) the instructions said I’m to light the syringe until it’s red, but that never happened. I basically burned the needle black each time. Which makes me wonder if I burned the substrate when I injected some of the jars, and caused problems. - Jars have been incubating in the tub with regular 74 – 77 degree temperature from the water heater.
OK – a jar to jar report, with photos. All photos are at the 3 week point:
JARS 1 – 5 – this is classic growth. All white, rhizomatic mycelium growth. Nothing to really discuss here. Even Jar 4 has growth on the underside. All good!

JARS 6 – 8 – This may be OK. Not sure. I’m seeing some of the white rhizomatic growth, but it’s accompanied by some green and red coloration, and is not as robust as Jars 1 – 5. This image of the other side of Jar 8 shows that it seems to be growing rapidly, though there is a blue patch there as well.

JAR 9 and JAR 10 – shows little white spots where the spores where injected, but lots of green and red coloration, and no healthy mycelium growth.

JARS 11 – 12 – These got nuthin’. Green and red coloration, no mycelium growth or white at all.

So – here’s my questions: 1) Are Jars 6 – 8 worth holding on to? 2) Should I simply throw out Jars 9 – 12? 3) Is it possible to leave the cakes in the jars for too long? Midwest Grow kits says wait 4 - 5 weeks for mycelium coverage, then wait 2 days after that to ensure growth is on the bottom. The 5th week date will occur when I'm out of town, but then I'm back the day after, so I'm assuming I'll be OK?
Thanks! Appreciate your help! Bisquick

Red and green colouration = contams. i.e trich and bacteria A blackened needle from flaming is just soot deposits, getting the needle red hot takes more heat, so you likely haven't burnt your substrate, if you had, the heat would've killed the spores as they left the syringe anyway. It's likely that your first five jars will be good and the rest are trash. Wait for a trusted cultivator but I'd say only the first five are worth keeping.

Pics are too small to tell for sure, dude, but 1-5 may be ok. The rest are trash even with the small pics.

Thanks Stan and Pearl! Appreciate your insight. This site requires photos to be 517kb or smaller, so I was forced to do that to even upload the pics at all!
Is it possible to leave the mycelium in the jars for too long? I will be out of town for a bit, but when I get back, it will have been 5 weeks and 2 days.

For BRF cakes the idea is fully colonization plus one week to make sure the inside is colonized as well. If they're left in too long, they'll start to fruit in the jar, but from the sounds of things, you'll be fine to leave them for a few days.
