Time to pin/fruit in SGFC?
    #27060954 - 11/28/20 01:15 AM (1 month, 18 days ago)

First time grower.  My BRF cakes (B+) have been sitting in my SGFC for 20 days now without any signs of pinning.  How long should I wait before calling it a failure?  Is there anything I can do (redunking in water?) to help the process along?

Without the details of the environment and some pics, any advice given would just be a guess.

Here's pictures of both of my tubs.  They've been out in room temperature.  Misted and fanned daily.  I haven't noticed any difference in them since birthing them 3 weeks ago.  I thought some pins were developing while they were in the jars, but I still haven't seen any growth.

Trim the foil to closely match the size of the cakes.  This will increase the air flowing past the cakes.  Only mist the surface if the vermiculite is changing to a lighter straw/sand color.    A few of those cakes look like they are staying wet - that will cause them to rot.  The repeated evaporation/hydration of that outer layer is one of the bigger triggers for pinning.

I'll give it a try.  Thanks much!
