Winter Chanterelles?
    #27060311 - 11/27/20 02:35 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Pretty sure these are winter chanterelles (craterellus tubeaformis) but fairly new to this and would like a second opinion before I consume

Found today in deciduous woodland in south east England.

Awesome gills on that one (or ridges or whatever you wanna call them)! I love when they get all veiny. Definitely looks like C. tubaeformis. There's a distinct species on the West Coast of the United States that is tentatively being called Craterellus neotubaeformis that looks very similar.

There are many types of Craterellus out there, although I have yet to find good info on many of the species I've seen listed.

Thank you!
They’re so unassuming from above, I almost ignored them.
Glad I didn’t though!
