Will This HEPA Filter Work For Flowhood? (or buying 4x4 prebuilt...)

https://www.zoro.com/koch-filter-hepa9999-prtcl-36x48x5875-h31g3x1/i/G1504629/
(This one has more specs listed. I believe they're the same) https://iscsales.com/item/36x48x5-7-8-biomax-hepa-filter-99-99-koch-k136486-sbw-99/
Also considering just buying one from a TC. It's a 4x4 for 1000 (plus 200 or so shipping for freight). Price aint bad (esp compared to fungiperfecti) but I'm wondering if getting such a huge one will be a waste. What do cultivators do with that extra foot of space?

Yes that filter will work.
Also, yes, that is a great price on a 4' x 4' for sure, but the bigger it is the more power the fan will use and if you don't truly need one that big you might be better served to get a smaller (but still big) 2 x 4 unit.
You can get a 2 x 4 prefabbed unit that is ready to go from Myers Mush for $760 with free shipping.
At that price I wouldn't bother building my own. Gotta love the scalability of industry!

The 4x4 is actually from Myers! He sold out of all the 2x4 and 3x4's last week and the website says they wont restock still Jan/Feb. Didn't wanna wait that long so was thinking about just getting the 4x4 but you're right about power. And I really wouldn't know what to do with all that space. I get the advantage of the 3x4 is extra room for transfers with XLS bags, but what can you even do with 4 feet height?

Honestly the better question is what can't you do with 4 feet of height?! My hood is 2'x5' and has hella room. I was thinking the 2' height might be a little cramped, but it's enough to work comfortably with 14A bags. 3' high and you wouldn't have a single care in the world

Very true! Only worries I guess are taking up unnecessary space and power usage. But do flow hoods use a significant amount of electricity? It's only a fan right?

My 2x4 homebuild runs a Dayton 1TDU2. I have a 2x4 MyerMushroom FFU in shipping currently.

Yep it's basically just a fan. Used a power meter on mine when i last used it, hood plus LED light plus sealer used 0.91 kWh per hour. In my area, power is about $0.14/kWh so it's cheap AF.

Why would anyone buy your $900 2x2 FH when they could buy MyersMushroom's $750 2x4 FFU brand new? Hell FP units are cheaper than yours I think.
