I generally tip pretty well. every now and again I'll tip 50-100% on delivery food and haircuts and less expensive stuff like that. makes people a littler happier then they hopefully pay it forward and put out more niceness into the world.

I tip around 20% at restaurants, always try to throw a buck into the jar at grab n go type places. I try to tip more at places I'm a regular at. I also always tip in cash which is a little harder to get a hold of now a days.

Usually around 20%. If there is a jar situation then I throw some money in about every 2 or 3 times. I'm also a super nice, polite, and easy to deal with customer.
If it's a place where they have to touch me, like a hair-cut place then I tip much more. Like over 50% at least.
If service is bad then I leave little to no tip.

I tip waitstaff on performance, and take into account if they are busy but usually 20-25%. I don't base my tip on the food, they just serve it, not cook it. If it is really bad I have no hesitation asking to have my meal reprepped because its garbage. Always polite, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

Holland does not have a culture where servers are treated like second class citizens such as is the case in the US, a leftover from your troubled racial history.
Servers here straight up get decent salaries that can sustain their household even in the absence of tips, their salary and benefits and paid leave when they get sick is included in the price you pay.
Tipping here is pure generosity, not a way to prop up underpaid benefitless servers.
I tip mediocre for mediocre service and exceptional for exceptional server.
If I were a server, I would be respectfully, elegantly submissive to the customer's enjoyment of the restaurant experience, being the ambassador, the liaison, between the restaurant and myself.
This is a far cry to what is often the case with servers in Holland. The Dutch are generally assertive and direct, if not rude, and many servers are too.
You don't have through roll through the mud for me, but certainly don't be arrogant, passive-aggressive or impatient with my reasonable pace of the process, or you'll get coal in your stocking this christmas
The ones that do an impeccable job, often in exotic restaurants is my observation, where the owner insists on polite service of his staff, I tip very generously, in part fueled by the times I had to tip mediocre.

I typically tip from 20-100%. It really depends on where I'm at and how great the service was. Having been a waiter, I'm especially inclined to give very large tips

Some servers make crazy money. Obviously others are poor as shit.
My Mother is a bar tender, she can clear $300 a night. That's more than I make with a Master's degree. I guess the point is that while servers in the U.S. are certainly undervalued, I'm not sure they are exactly treated as second class citizen either.
I've tipped as much as 50% for excellent service, and generally never less than 15% no matter how bad the service was.

Usually 20%. If I have a gift card somewhere I try to leave a really good tip, or places that I go to a lot I usually tip a little more.
At one thai restaurant that I went to weekly and would tip well at, the owner brought us out a really fancy bottle of sake as a thank you, he sat down and drank with us after the restaurant closed. It was pretty cool hanging out and drinking and hearing his story

I avoid tipping situations like the plague. If I'm forced to be in a tipping situation I'll tip appropriately out of compassion. But if you want to keep the money that you make, avoid doing stuff that involves spending and tipping. That way you're richer and not poorer at the end of the day

Most of the people I know that make great money are servers or bartenders. My buddy made well over 250 a night waiting tables at a Mexican restaurant.
Heck one of the people I know that makes the most money is a jimmy johns delivery driver. She paid off her student loans, got a home and paid cash for a brand new car by the time she was 25
Pizza hut delivery driver is a quick way to 25/hr or more in most cities

At one of my old jobs we used to grab lunch frequently at the restaurant next door. The first couple of times were great, but after that the wait staff was always horrible to us, we eventually had to stop going because the food would take like an hour to come out, it’d be cold and we wouldn’t get back to work in time.
My buddy ran into one of the servers later on and she asked him what our problem was, asking why we never left a tip. After we connected the dots it turned out that one of the pieces of shit we worked with must’ve been pocketing the tip that we all left behind, he would always be struggling to find cash in his wallet or something and he’d be the last one with the check. I felt so bad, it was hundreds of dollars worth of tips that the servers lost out on, I’m surprised they let us back in at all and a server or even a manager never said anything. Who knows how much spit and other extra ‘seasoning’ ended up in our food

I was at a shithole diner once and this table full of cunts said they wouldn't tip no white bitch. The restaurant had a policy of paying after you order before you get your food at any time because of the neighborhood it is in. They complained about having to pre pay and the manager came and told them it was just policy. So they paid but told the manager they wouldn't be tipping no white bitch. But he crumbled like a deck of cards and went and hid out the rest of the time. Poor waitress had to deal with them.
My forklift driver told me he never tips and never will. I said well that's kind of a piece of shit thing to do and he just said you ain't me. Lol

I don't eat out because I don't believe in tipping. I'm not saying that I don't think they deserve their tips, they surely do. I just think their employers should pay them enough money to where they don't need to get tips. Why should customers have to supplement a restaurant employees pay check because the employer doesn't want to pay them a living wage? )
