I found this mushroom in my backyard. It was growing with about five other mushrooms of the same kind. I think there used to be an old tree were I found these mushrooms and the tree was cut down or rather pulled out of the ground.
The mushroom is about 3inch's wide it is a smokey brown color. The stem is about 3inch's long and white very thick. I pinched the stem there was no brusing. Also the mushroom has large whitish pinkish gills that can be separated easily by running your finger across them. I also smelled the mushroom and it smells like a mushroom. I have included a picture of the mushroom cap and a spore print, which is a peach or peachy color.

Thanks for the help.

hmm looks like a Pluteus Cervinus, or Fawn mushroom. it may be more commonly called something other than that pluteus name, but thats what the field guide says! edible, best when young. *dont eat it though, my ID's are just guesses!!*

Is that print brown as it looks on the screen. Looks like, yet another, P. Foen. but the gills don't add up.

I don't know what it is, but it's not active, I can tell you that much.
