Monotub drying out? Please help

My partner and I have started both a monotub for albino A and a shotgun fruiting chamber for some treasure coast, and we just set up the SGC about a week after the monotub and we have noticed that our substrate/spawn layers in the monotub have completely dried out. In the first few days it spread really well and seemed great but since has gone almost completely dry, what do we do from here? Why would it have dried out and what can we do to fix it? Any and all help is appreciated, thanks in advance.
