Hello all. Been awhile since I've been to the shroomery. The Joke is on me. Amazon just sent me 25 lb of millet flour but I was expecting seeds. They've decided to let me keep it for free with returnless refund. YAY! I do not do jars or PF Tek and before I waste my time trying to put this ground flour to use, I was wondering if anybody has ever used millet flour with straw pellets or bulk straw coir and or verm as a supplement in mono tubs? Ty

Absolutely dont use it as a mono sub supplement.
You can use it as a supplement in hardwood sawdust blocks for edibles but using it in a mono without sterilizing the sub and keeping it sterile will become a mold farm.

Yeah exactly for monotubs with open air and contam openness and all only cellulase based substrates like wood and coir, no starch base ones (food base like rye etc). If you order some vermiculite you can try PF Tek style grows. But remember that jars, that are too large might stall. Honeslty I am not sure what the best way to go it, probably using it to supplement sawdust bags, since those are sterilized and can be inoculated in a clean way in a SAB or so. But otherwise, this is one hell of a situation to be in, not sure if youre really gonna get this used up so fast with the common methods, since except PF Tek and sawdust bags nothing really calls for anything like flour. So dont know how youre gonn do this without doing some experimentation. And esp if youre growng cubensis sawdust doesnt even make sense right?

Yeah thank you for the replies that's exactly what I thought it would just be one awful mess. I mean I just have 25 lb of it for free now so I guess I am going to go to a lot of baking. Lmao. Nah I don't do PF jars. I'm a bulk fan but I'm experimenting with coir/staw/straw pellets with some verm with worm casting. I've never worked with worm castings or straw pellets. Someone who is not me also have a 50 gallon homemade pasteurizer ( which is a pain in the ass) but I've been seeing all these new Teks ie pasteurization inside a cooler with hot water, it looks easy easy just add the correct amount of water and shut the lid. I'm just trying to figure out how much water to add to these pellets inside a cooler 1 because I've never worked with pellets before. I'm going to experiment with small containers first. I'm thinking the first one I'll just fill add water to the top of the pellets and see if that does the trick as I know that some of the pelts should still he left over an intact to make sure moisture content is right. The water to boiler and pellets ratios ive found have been for single monotubs my lovely gourmets need several tubs done at a time. Its a big cooler.

Lmao! I've got so much flour I should try to do a huge PF Tech by using my 25 x inner pan as the cake mold instead of a jar. I bet you I could. It'll take some doing but I am determined. Ill just have to rig me up a really long needle to get that liquid culture way down deep in it. I know everybody will say it can't be done but it will be legendary!!!
