Hey y'all, I birthed these 2 B+ cakes on Nov 12th and they started pinning this week. They've been growing kinda slowly compared to my GTs. Here's how they're looking right now: https://imgur.com/a/FrlD24m
What do y'all think?

It depends on how far along you want them to grow. If I saw that on my cakes I would be expecting harvest in ~ 1.5-2.5 days. That’s considering that they are growing slowly.

Bruising/blue cakes are clear indicators of a too dry climate inside the FC and this is common with fruiting in a SGFC. You will notice also that even tho you increase misting you will still end up with bruised matted myc because optimal fruiting conditions and desirable climate inside the FC simply can not be created/maintained just by wetting the cakes when they start to become dry. Even if you disperse really nice beads of moisture on the surface during misting a few times a day you will still need to have a desirable climate inside the fruiting chamber 24h per day for the fruiting conditions to be optimal.
If 'good fruiting conditions' could be created/maintained simply by misting/rewetting the cakes multiple times a day every time they start to dry out (this should tell you something is wrong when you have a FC that dries out your cakes multiple times in a 24h period, imo this shows that the FC ultimately isn't able to provide fruiting cakes with the climate needed to successfully fruit. Altho this procedure is nevertheless still able to provide minimal requirements for the cakes to pin, and if you happen to have multiple factors on your side such as high RH in your grow area, many cakes tightly packed inside the SGFC, and the setup being in a spot that doesn't create too much nor too little air currents and so on then you can easily achieve very successful grows but all of the different factors coming together with this setup just isn't likely. And having a new inexperienced grower needing to 'intervene' with the grow to try to improve the climate as to compensate for the FCs inability to do so on its own only adds more to increase the risk of ending up with poor results.
I'd recommend to try out multiple fruiting chambers and to see what works best for you, I O there are setups here that rely on none of the factors that the SGFC relies on, setups that demand minimal if any 'intervening' with the grow to create not only good fruiting conditions but not very far optimal since other setups closely imitate the fruiting process that happens in the the wild, for example not needing to mist because in nature mushrooms don't need to have water sprayed onto them to be able to grow. You can check out the link in my sig to learn more about this type of chambers. And remember I'm not recommending you to give up practicing fruiting in your SGFC I'm recommending you to not put all of your eggs in one basket but instead to try other methods as well since they are easily available and the best part is these chambers don't need to be constructed and can be made out of practically any container as long as it's a än unmodified container like a plastic tub, literally takes 60seconds to create a very effective and reliable FC and it will work equally well every time because the concept is extremely simple
Congrats on fruits anyway and looking forward to see you grow more and much better cakes in both the shotgun and other setups
