Need help on grain prep
    #27054307 - 11/23/20 05:22 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Hey all!

Just purchased a 23 qt pressure cooker to start doing agar and my own jars. Could someone recommend a beginner grain prep tek. Not rushed on time and would prefer a reputable tek.

Also, I am picking up a flow hood next week and would pose this question, is there are a large difference between the flow hood sitting on the work bench blowing air at you or hanging above and blowing down onto the table? Logically I'd imagine it would be more effective blowing straight down. In saying that it will take some make-shift framing that I am not sure I am confident in those abilities.

I have searched, tek I am thinking of using is

24 hour soak
45 min simmer
Rinse in strainers
Leave in strainers
Pressure cook for 2 hours @ 15 psi.

Sorry I should have clarified rye and not just said grains. Appreciate the input.
