Help~ Slooowed micelium w/pics
    #27054001 - 11/23/20 01:57 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

I just looked at my jars and:

Veeeery little growth in 3-4 days (from the the last black line mark)

It grows, but at a very slow rate, so I suppose the problem is not bacteria.
My suspicion is the temperature, it was now at 60.8 F, maybe that's why colonization sudently slowed down.

Shaking them a second time and placing them near a (very mild) heat source would be a good idea? Or better just wait more time?

I ask about shaking them because 2 of the 5 jars that I inoculate, are already 100%, and I shaken those with a % colonization greater than those in the photos.

Otherwise, IMO, the mycelium looks good. I don't see any contamination, but it has been going on since 10/24 (from LC, not really dense, btw)

Ty~

My plan was to mix all 5 jars with bulk at the same time, hence I would like these to speed up the process, so as not to have the others waiting too long.

Finding the same and wondering about a heat source as well. I am trying a couple of different things currently. Including using a Styrofoam cooler with a mild heat source. But interested to see what suggestions you get.

Not sure 100 but it seams like you have contamination. Had same jars with slow grow, after moving to bulk all went green... And smell was sweet..

That is what I concluded with mine - I ended up ditching it.

My guess is if OP shake this jar again, it will not recover. Carry on with the other healthy jars. This is gone.

Hey~

Because of the cold it was very slow, but that's it, I think, I already mixed them with bulk (separately, the jars with better appearance and those that don't).
They had no visual contam (I think), or strange smells, so well, let's see.

Also, I shook one of the jars to do the experiment, and it recovered without problems after a few days
