ID HELP! South Georgia
    #27051970 - 11/22/20 11:01 AM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Habitat:
Found on a cow pasture in South Georgia
Growing out of cow shit!

Are these by any chance active? They seem to have some blue on a few of them

Thank you!

Looks like you got a couple Copelandia cyanescens in there (blue ones). The rest look like a mix of Panaeolus antillarum, P. papilionaceus, foenisecii, and maybe cinctulus.

1st pic yup

second hard to tell for my inexperienced eyes. may be blueish green bruise or just black from being old? best jsut to eat the ones are 100%. clearly bruise blue black spores gtg.  look a little past there prime anyway. can find some nice fresh ones cause ur lucky to live in a place they grow! do as alan does shake some caps in a water bottle and spray around the feild on patties!  dunno if works as well as woodlovers who stick around perhaps longer on the wood

Alrighty! Looks like not many spores are coming off this shroomy. What’s the best way in trying to grow these like in a TEK

Top left ones are fresh Copelandia

The ones in the middle are Copes Catching a tan

Ones to the right are Copes undergoing dehydration which makes your job a little easier...

The only one thats not active in the pic is a P. papilionaceus

I only kept the ones at the bottom! The white ones in the top right did not bruise blue so I just tossed those! I currently have the other ones drying

Did you pinch and damage the white ones because they look like Copelandia to me not antillarum...I stand firm that the only inactive mushroom in the pic is the P. pap

The Group At The Top Left Are Panaeolus Antillarum, Trust Me. Copes Bruise Immediately When Picked & Cope Stems Are Never That Thick, Only Antillarum Gets Big Like That.

I See 6 Obvious Copes In The Big Picture. The Darker Pans Could Be Copes But They Could Also Be Pan. Olivaceus Or Similar. I Can't Tell If They Are Bruising Or Not.

You CAN NOT Pick Copes & Get Them Back To Your House Before They Bruise Bluish Where Injured/Damaged, Even If You Live 50 Yards From Your Field.

I've found Fresh Copes with stems bigger than shown...I do see brown staining on the far left where it was broken so this could very well be antillarum as Breeg stated but i wouldn't toss right away for sure here is an example

Those Are Really Big Copes In Your Pic, But Compare The Stem Size Of The Heavily Bruising Copes In OP's Pic Compared To The Stem Size Of The Others That Aren't Bruisng. Massive Difference In Size.

I Assume OP Picked All Of These In The Same General Time Frame, So If They Were Copes, They'd Be Showing Bluish Just Like The Others.

No Need To Toss Them Either Way, Pan. Antillarum Is Edible, So It Won't Hurt To Eat A Couple.
