When doing this can you use straight up spores
Also if I may ask the peptons is there something to replace them with? What are the reason for the pepton? Just source of n or is there another reason?

You can try and direct inoculate grain with spores however there is a good chance that will fail, I know some go from spore directly to LC however I always use agar

It seems people who have grown well in monos are increasing the FAE with more holes. Baba yaga did a good looking mono grow, and so did pasty. Stonesun grows in a dubtub with four (I think) holes in it, MacMerdin grew in a conventional SGFC iirc.

Hye, thanks for the link
So whats the consensus on drying pan cyans? I read some threads where people say higher heat oxidises the psilocin content but is it really safe to blow dry with room temp air? oxidization would still happen then, no?

JOC how do you find casing your sub seeing as it's so straw heavy. Do you tamp it down a fair bit when you first lay it out?

Drying them is no different than any other mushroom.
You can boil shrooms for tea no problem so a dehydrator isn’t going to do damage.

If there is a loss, you might be thankful for it depending on how much you dose.

I’ve heard it’s better to preserve species with higher psilocin to psilocybin ratios in frozen tea than by drying. Someone correct me if I’m wrong

I'm thinking 100 - 120 f might be better temps for pans, what is your experience people?

I'd love to be able to freeze dry pan cyans. The dehydrator mangles these big time. Not worried so much about the psilocybin as the psilocyn. My understanding is that freeze drying would preserve this better but also keep the shape of the fruit...instead of turning them into small twigs.
Which temps you dry in? Why is it a problem that they turn into twigs? Do you personally notice a difference between dried and wet actives strength? thanks.

I just lay mine out so they are not jumbled up together in the dehydrator and dry them as fast as I can it usually doesn’t take more than 30 minutes as soon as they are dry I vacuum seal them in bags they will stay break your faith strong as long as the bag stay sealed or at least within a year and a half as that’s about the oldest I’ve tested

Hi JOC, during pasteurization in your rice cooker, do you load into it jars, bags or is the sub loaded by itself without any container holding it?
And another thing, which brand do you use? What is its volume? Thanks
