Day 5 of mycelium in fruiting conditions
    #27053259 - 11/23/20 01:01 AM (3 years, 2 months ago)

So this is my very first attempt at anything like this. I’ve made it past colonizing the mycelium and it is currently inside the tub as the title states this is day 5 of it being in fruiting conditions. I’m trying to discern if the growth of these are normal or if the fluffiness is contamination? I appreciate any advice I can get and let me know if more information is needed.

Try increasing FAE

The mycelium looks really fluffy, I'd be a tad bit concerned as well.

Keep fruiting condition in-line and ride it out!

If it is contam, it'll more than likely show more tell-tell signs within another 7 days or so..

If pins don't start forming, after 7 days, then it's probably time to reset, and try again. I wouldn't toss them until I knew for sure the fluff wasn't mycelium though.

I'm pretty sure your good, most mycelium is fluffy when its not isolated...

Thanks so much for the quick replies! My cheap hydrometer says RH is 99% I will try decreasing that number and see what happens. I’ve got an air pump attached to a humidifier but I will try increasing FAE because I’ve been solely relying on the air pump.

Decreasing humidity doesn’t increase FAE. High humidity is good, try to add more fresh air without lowering your humidity

I've been trying to justify you

In the end I will just defy you

So I’ve increased FAE while keeping the humidity levels high and the fluffiness that was showing has diminished and now most of the cakes are turning to a blue tint :frown: nearly half of them are showing this discoloration.
