It looks decent for SGFC cakes first time, I visited your pic gallery Idk what's wrong with the url codes tho..
Anyway I say do both cakes and bulk grows and you'll find out what suits your needs the most, but genreally cakes are more reliable/contam resistant and bulk grows produce bigger yields per substrate fruited gl

Shoeboxes are a good middle ground for practicing before graduating to tubs. Less contam resistant than cakes but you get to practice with agar and identifying clean grain spawn

But you don’t need to put all your eggs in one basket with shoeboxes. If you’re a newbie and think a jar looks clean but it’s actually dirty it doesn’t get mixed in with your other potentially clean jars

Ooh okay I get what you're saying, I think you're under the impression that Shoeboxes are always made from only one spawn jar but that's not always the case, both regular unmodified tubs and Shoeboxes can be made with one of several spawn jars but you are correct in that making bulk substrates with one spawn jar per substrate minimizes the risks of having one bad jar compromise another healthy jar, I've grown bulk for 4 years and I still only put one egg in the basket lol

So I've used shoeboces for small sgfc's on th brf cakes.VERY INFORMATIVE!!!! True science project at that point. Different conditions with different results.....i had maybe 8 shoeboces throughout my house. Discovered my office has the best natural results. But it has a window facing the street, plus I have a k9 unit patrolling that road regularly.then the spare bedroom, kitchen and master bedroom+ its closet. The back closet is the most discreet and controllable.(So long as the weather is not sporadic, I live in southern kansas) an additionaltowel can lower the temp from my seed germ Matt's. I use low cost led lights roughly 2300 lumens from 2 linkable lghts, and a 5000 lumen led shop light.i fan when condensation on the lid and sides is heavy. Otherwise I will crack the lid once I get home from work for maybe 2 hours. Close it an hour then open another 1.5 hours. Once my cakes cover 50% with white myc/fuzz over the dry verm casing layer( provided after at least a 24 HR soak......ive found you can over saturate them......they will crumble!!! Which may have also been from being spent cakes haven produced 8 flushes) i unplug the heat matts and remove the towels. And it will usually average 72-75 degrees. Then I will wait 5-14 days( depending on inside hvac and outdoor temps, my master closet is against an exterior wall. So if its 20 outside in the morning and 54 by noon. The heat matts can prevent stalling in am but roast in afternoon)
