Since I was talkin chemicals and shit in the toolbox.
Worth it's weight in gold. 2oz per gallon of water. Makes washing monotubs easy as fuck and you know it's going to kill shit. I use it in a 1 gallon pump sprayer when washing tubs out in my shower using the spray head.
They get stacked to dry.
Before using again I have a hand sprayer to mist them with then dry with a paper towel.
Good shit and cheap if you consider how much it makes. 67 gallons of disinfectanto out of a $23 jug. 34 cents a gallon for potent stuff. Good shit imho and wonderful around the house too. I'm fairly certain it's far more effective than bleach.

It’s the same as fruiting with a bag over the top instead of dubbing them.
Once the subs colonized and the myc is holding everything in place you can actually take it out of the shoebox without disturbing anything. It’s amazing how well the myc sucks the bag up to the sides.
That's clever as fuck, you could literally produce them like a factory line with minimal effort.
@Lenz, in the ratio 1:2, the spawn is represented by the first number (1). So one part spawn to 2 parts sub.
So ya 1:1 is a high ratio and 1:4 is a low ratio

Another thing to mention, I believe it was pasty that had found higher spawn ratios can affect fruit size... dig around in the search engine and im sure you can find some side by side comparisons

Higher spawn ratios will colonize faster per se but I'm not so sure that they will fruit faster. The number one pinning trigger is full colonization of the substrate. More spawn equals more nutrition that the mycelium has to metabolize. Which is why its recommended that brf cakes should go through a consolidation period before birthing.
Anyway, spawn ratios are definitely not the only factor to heavy first flushes. Environmental conditions, amount of water in the substrate, and genetics all play a role as well.
Edited: due to confusion on high vs low ratios.

Yeah the high low ratio thing is confusing.
It’s easier for me to think of it like this-
1-1 is 50%/50% where 1-3 is 25%-75%. The closer the numbers the higher the ratio.

I edited my last two posts to reflect the correction on what are considered high vs low ratios. Sorry for the confusion as I was confused myself.

I like splitting my bags of spawn into two tubs. If it's healthy and got good mass it produces a nice yield.

The myc visible on the sides and bottom shouldn’t be such a solid white with defined edges. If it keeps colonizing I’d let it run regardless though unless mold shows up.
Thanks Yes there seems to be more condensation now and the mycelium stopped spreading about a week or so ago. So if bacteria, does that mean it's a gonner?

This feels like a stupid question, but does myc care what surface it fruits off of in a tub? Specifically grains vs coir? I’m seeing some knots forming but they seem to be sticking to the coir sections instead of the exposed grains on the surface. Does the myc give a shit?

Not that it answers your questions but in bags I sometimes have the myc grow up the sides of the bag then grow a fruit right off the side of the bag. The myc it uses to do this looks allllien as fuck. Super thick and rubbery.

The reason is conditions.
Coir provides a much better microclimate than grain.
Thats why if you see more experienced members fruiting straight grain they atleast give it a top layer or a casing

Fuck, if I’d known that I wouldn’t have had so many exposed grains on the surface
I’ve got a shit ton of surface grains and not too much exposed coir on the surface because I didn’t know better. Could this fuck my yield?

I'm not entirely sure. Its possible it'll dry out faster lowering potential yield, but I've never really played with it

Up until like a year ago it seemed like most people left tons of exposed grains. The coir top layer is pretty new.
