If you're on a farm with pest animals like rats, and your air rifle is high powered enough to reliably take them out in one shot, you're doing meaningful pest control. A rat is much better off with a barely subsonic 5.5mm pellet square through the brain than eating a rat poison pellet and dying after prolonged suffering from massive internal bleeding 5 days later.
In the city though, no need to shoot a bird or somebodies cat.

My father doesn't drink. My grandfather however had a routine of a glass of Powers whiskey and a small can of Heineken every evening. I reckon I was about 8 or so when he let me and my cousin have a sip.
He used to be a prolific brewer back in days gone by and every time someone renovates a room in his house or pulls up a floorboard, there's usually a bottle of strange fruit wine being aged. About two years ago we found some 40 year old rhubarb wine he had put behind a wall.
As teenagers we got a hold of his brewing equipment and brewing books, and he had a large fruit garden that we would use to make alcoholic ciders.

At a school evening party. Bunch of us was wanted to get liquored up, so we sent 1 guy to the kiosk right outside school and he bought a large can of beer. He smuggled it successfully thro all the teachers. We locked ourself in a classroom on the third floor and had some of that beer. All I remember it was felt GREAT we started goofing around jumping up and down, crawling on desks... that was us being 12 I think, good times

I would acctually prefer people with fences of a certain height being allowed to discharge air rifles in their back yard. At least its possible to aim away from my cat and preferably my property.
When you put poison into what is effectively a container made out of cat bait thats worrying to me.
I refuse to use poison to kill pests on my property. My cat takes care of rodents besides bunnies and squirrels. I dont mind bunnies but I'd shoot every last squirrel in my city if I could. I hate those things.

My paternal grandfather always had this acetone type smell on his breath and a quick temper. He was an engineer and a really high stress person. In the end he died from quitting too abruptly.

My sister is the same, she's a 'super taster' and can't tolerate alcohol or anything mildly bitter.

My dad died of an overdose when I was 9. My mother began a relationship with my uncle (my dad's brother) but he was much worse on alcohol and crack + had many major mental health problems. He hung himself in 2012. I was around 17 when I started drinking but around 15 or 16 when I began messing with psychedelics.

Probably like 2, maybe younger lol. There is a picture of me taking a swig of PBR as a toddler. I remember I didn't mind the taste. Drank heavy in my late teens - mid 20s. Have not had a sip of alcohol in over 4 years.

I've never seen my dad drink a beer. He only drinks a Tom Collins every once in a while. I did steal a beer from the fridge at around 16 or so and it tasted horrible to me. I didn't really like it until college.
