I've grown these cacti for 3-4 years now. I started them from seed.
It's been quite a ride taking care of them and them taking care of me. I love them

Are 3 years long enough to develop a good amount of alkaloids?

I will cut one from the two that are planted in the same pot. I'm hoping for a mild/easy experience, just to get my feet wet or maybe even up to my knees.

Have any of you grown your own from seed and tripped with? How was it?

Really beautiful cacti, my friend.
Im growing e.pacha (graft) and lopho (seed/graft), and the only time I took mescaline was from a piece of about 25-30cm of san pedro, if I remember correctly (for me, pretty intense effect, not CRAZY, but not bad, quite interesting).

The cutting was from a pretty big specimen, and from what I understand, it is important that it is of a considerable size for a good experience (at least with pacha).

By this, I mean that if you are looking to "secure" the experience, perhaps you should look for a cut of a larger specimen, although I do not know the size of the ones in the photo, idk.

Anyway, you can try what you say, maybe it will be a good experience.

Looking at the photos again, perhaps they have already a considerable size, although I dont understand as much of that species as the e.pacha.

If you need any help, I will try to help as much as I can~

Anyway, Im sure that there are more propone who can help you with your question better than me, I grow quite a few species of cactus, but not for those specific purposes hahahaha (usually)

Good luck~

Your plants look great
Very healthy looking
I myself personally would put them into bigger pots or (ideally)outside in the ground for a good few more years of growth before samples are taken-they really have only just got going....
