I've grown these cacti for 3-4 years now. I started them from seed.
It's been quite a ride taking care of them and them taking care of me. I love them :heart:

Are 3 years long enough to develop a good amount of alkaloids?

I will cut one from the two that are planted in the same pot. I'm hoping for a mild/easy experience, just to get my feet wet or maybe even up to my knees.

Have any of you grown your own from seed and tripped with? How was it? :grin:

Really beautiful cacti, my friend.
Im growing e.pacha (graft) and lopho (seed/graft), and the only time I took mescaline was from a piece of about 25-30cm of san pedro, if I remember correctly (for me, pretty intense effect, not CRAZY, but not bad, quite interesting).

The cutting was from a pretty big specimen, and from what I understand, it is important that it is of a considerable size for a good experience (at least with pacha).

By this, I mean that if you are looking to "secure" the experience, perhaps you should look for a cut of a larger specimen, although I do not know the size of the ones in the photo, idk.

Anyway, you can try what you say, maybe it will be a good experience.

Looking at the photos again, perhaps they have already a considerable size, although I dont understand as much of that species as the e.pacha.

If you need any help, I will try to help as much as I can~

Anyway, Im sure that there are more propone who can help you with your question better than me, I grow quite a few species of cactus, but not for those specific purposes hahahaha ~~(usually)~~

Your plants look great
Very healthy looking
I myself personally would put them into bigger pots or (ideally)outside in the ground for a good few more years of growth before samples are taken-they really have only just got going.... :shrug:
