Great book. I suggest you read The Rum Diary next. Great book from Thompson's pre-psychedelic era. I know what you mean though. After I read Fear and Loathing I had such a great urge to go on a drug binge. I hope to live up to it this year at Bonnaroo.

Yes you'll be happy with Rum Diary. It's a difficult book to put down just like Fear and Loathing. Although it'd pre-psychedelic era, it's still very interesting and profound. A lot of drinking and carousing takes place and it makes for a very entertaining read. And plus a Rum Diary movie is being made at this very moment. I can't wait until it's finished and released to the public.

Rum Diaries is a great book... i lent it to a friend and the bastard moved back to Belgium with my copy of it, though . Also highly recommend "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72" and "Hells Angels: A Fearsome and Terrible Saga" if you want to read his more "journalistic" work...

I thought Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was an excellent book. It's one of the few books I've read that has caused me to laugh out loud.
