Time to stop ordering take away food and rely on spotted kitchen nerds passing corona on to you. Chances that some teenager kitchen porter or a cook doesnt even show any simptoms, has corona, comes to work, passes it on to u. This is not a question of if, its WHEN.

I mean realistically there is a very, very high probability that ingesting the virus would result in it being destroyed by your stomach acid. Almost certainly.
I suppose it is possible that viruses would sit on the package and then you touch that and then maybe it gets airborne and you breath it in?
I mean when is the last time you heard of getting the flu from takeout? This is not the flu, but it does spread the same way.

I don’t think there’s any real evidence that eating the virus gets you sick, I could be wrong though.
When I get takeout I just dump the food into one of my own dishes, toss all the packaging and then wash up before I touch anything else. Could also just reheat the food in an oven to kill off any virus particles, though that kinda defeats the point of takeout.
I’ve been trying to eat less takeout anyway just to save money, but I also want to support my favorite local spots that are struggling so I usually grab something once every week or so.

There is definitely a possiblity it will, but if you look at the number of pathogens(specifically viruses and bacteria here) that spread via ingestion, it is a fraction of them.
I am by no means an infectious disease expert, but as an ICU nurse, I can only think of like 2 viruses that can survive stomach acid and infect you. I think it's just hepatitis A and B(maybe).
Our stomach acid is a PH of 1.5, on average. Microbes got to have some serious defense to not immediately die from that.

I feel safer doing take out rather than dining in. I always order take out if I haven't cooked anything and want something different.

While I suspect most opinions about the virus being destroyed by the gastric environment are correct it escapes me how people think the potentially virus-tainted food would pass from the fork to the stomach without contacting the epithelial mucosa on the way there? It is enormously unlikely that 1000s of virus particles would stick perfectly to the macerated food, never contacting mouth or throat and magically appear in the stomach where it would be destroyed. Epithelial cells serve as viral entry points.

Before I started my diet, I tried to avoid prepared food that had to be handled after being cooked, or hadn't been sitting under a warmer for a while.
Gas station pizza is probably safe.
