I tried but could only find info regarding identification and a couple of sources ofr plant material and alkaloids contained therein and whatnot but was wondering this: has anyone here had any practical exp. with this plant or extracts (labled poisons- i wouldn't touch the stuff......) available or know any FOAFOAF that has and if so, what is its functionality. Sounds as bleak as it does fun. If so- here I remain.

Its rather Mild, not expect to nod or anything. It's interesting to try but I wouldn't use much because of its poisonous natural (protopine, berberine, etc.) . Some people enjoy smoking the extract and find it relaxing and a nice substitute for other illegal substances. I read that it was traditionally used as an anesthetic but I don't see how it could be that powerfull without subjecting one to a rather dangerous dose.

This month, I've been spotting them all along highways in texas. (I'll take a picture later maybe) It's actually kinda cool to tap your friend on the shoulder and say "thats a prickly poppy..". I can ALMOSt identify lactuca virosa, too.. theres a lot of mustards and letuces to get it mixed up with though

Yeah there is a ton of Argemone Alba (or whatever the white variety is called) growing down in texas and along Interstate 70 throughout the midwest into colarado.. Prickly poppy and Wild Lettuce are both very abundant weeds and very easy to identify.
Isn't it a good feeling to spot plants that you know about and be like, Hey That was used as a drug, and know all the historical aspects , mythology, and phytopharmacological constituents!? Excellent isn't it.

Yeah- I had no clue they grew here of all places till I was bicycling out to the fields last year to pick and saw them growing roadside between me and the 2nd Broad River. I thought to myself "what the fuck?!". Found many neat things that day...Memories... Yeah- they're pretty- Alkaloidaholic: do you think that by using so simple a method as dryin thm for seed I could cultivate for ornamental value or am I being a cheapass?
