Found a person who is selling 4 envirco mac 10 ffu. 2 are working and 2 are non working says electrical issues. They look pretty used from the pictures. Looking to set up a laminar flow bench / wall with them. Would you all recommend me spending my money on them or just wait for something else to come along. Told me I can have all 4 for 500.

I feel like the one on the far left has a 220v style twist lock plug but it could just be one of those super fat household power ones. Then on the right middle, thats def household power...
I might go for it, especially if i could inspect and poke around before commiting, but I am used to buying used broken things and making them work. YMMV
what are YOU most comfortable with? how much money can you throw afford to throw away? what will you do if they arrive and between all 4 units you can't frankenstein something that works? Will this make you unable to pay rent? If you answer all these questions to yourself and feel OK with it, then do it

The electrical part I am not worried as I am an electrician by trade. I am more worried about condition of the filters. Did some quick googling and looks like around 350 for new filters. Is that what other people have experienced?

Go for it. They work great. I bought 3 of them for 800 bucks. So worth it.
