I've thought about that, too. It's a mother deer that's been hanging around for a while. Didn't think she'd be brave enough to come so close to the porch, but alas...

I think my horses ate muscaria once, I picked a few and put them on a pine tree in my horse pasture to dry and the next day they were gone

you make arrowheads? I made a bunch 12 years ago, but they were kinda shitty, but I had fun and I bet they would still pierce flesh if I attached them to a stick, I want to try again sometime, maybe this summer

I bought some of the copper billets, and pressure flakes... makes it a lot easier. I can make some pretty crude forms with stone, and bone...but nothing compared to what they were doing way back when.

I couldnt. They were planted by a creek on a little outlet by a field. Perfect spot. They were like 2 or 3 weeks into veg and I make the hike to give some nutes to them and what do I see? A deer munching on the top of what was left of one of my plants(with the others already stripped) with this retarded look on its face until it noticed me then it turned around and yeeted itself into the creek and bounced away......I wish I would have had my gun on me that day

Actually, I simple stopped eating meat at work. Rarely in restaurants. Not having it every day anymore, turns out, after 2 years, I don't really like meat anymore.
There's so much vegetarian alternatives out there. Without the gross smell of meat .

I try to respect everyone, but I have no respect for pescatarians, what the fuck does the medium an animal lives in have to do with whether or not you eat it?
Like "oh that animal lives in water, I will kill and eat it, but animals that live in air are sacred."
How does that make sense?
What about amphibians? How much of its life needs to be in water for them to eat it?
Can pescatarians eat deep fried frog legs? I hear they taste like chicken and are good with hot sass n blue cheese

Right on.
Since I've stopped eating meat over the past 3 or 4 years now....I still find the aroma of things like a BBQ to smell good (the essence of the wood-smoke and the essence of the seasonings no doubt is the "core" of the good smells), and the smell of fried chicken is still a pleasant smell to me.
But the smell of just straight up beef being cooked in a pan, the smell of the meat itself cooking with out seasonings, that smells so putrid & foul to me now. It literally smells exactly like sour cow shit to me. Like the aroma I smell when driving by a cattle dairy, that pungent aroma of methane and sour cow shit, the smell of beef cooking smells exactly like that to me now. Not kinda like it, but exactly like it. When the people I live with cook beef in a pan the entire house smells like sour cow shit or like a cattle ranch, it doesn't smell pleasant at all.
And the smell of pork being cooked in a pan, the smell of the meat itself cooking, also smells extremely sour and rancid to me.

Someone saying they only eat fish is not the same thing as eating animals on the basis of their living in water or not. It does not imply that they eat aquatic mammals for example. There is no type of fish that has comparable mental faculties to any mammal. They are decidedly a lower life form compared to mammals as far as their level of awareness/consciousness.

There are various reasons why people choose to not eat meat.
I choose to not eat meat (from the meat industry) mostly because of the detrimental impact it has on our planet and the long trail of destruction it takes to create a tiny piece of flesh to eat, and partially because I feel it's not right to imprison billions & billions of animals merely to stuff our stomachs with...It's not because I feel it's wrong to kill and eat animals, I have no issue with hunting and fishing, but I do feel it's wrong to imprison billions of animals and the impact that industry has on our planet is disgusting. The meat industry is one of the many things that is killing the planet and tearing apart the biome we're all part of.
Going out and catching my own fish to eat has waaaaay way way less of an impact on our planet than buying a single pound of beef that took 2,000+ gallons of water to produce and a tremendous amount of other resources & energy. Also, the cow that flesh came from likely never had a life, it merely existed within a corral for years, probably separated from its mother when it was a young calf. I don't want to support the imprisonment of animals and the destruction of our planet with my $, and I only want to eat things that actually lived a life.
I intend on getting back into fishing more after the new year...and hunting Turkey & deer within the next couple years.
But yea...I do hear what you're getting at, in regards to those that choose to not eat the flesh of terrestrial animals because they think it's wrong to kill and eat an animal, but they will still eat the flesh of fish.

Psi and OM, I respect you both and thank you for your responses. Hopefully you recognized my comment as snarkily as it was meant. That said I must drill into your responses
I guess I get the mammals vs non-mammals but plenty of land dwelling air breathing animals are just as stupid if not more so than a large fish. There are also whole classes of air breathing animals that are not mammals like birds and lizards. In fact wikipedia just told me that fish hold the records for both the highest and lowest brain weight to body weight of all vertebrates. My own mind is blown by the idea that an african elephantnose fish has more brain as a percent of body weight than even us, holy shit for real til.
On the ecological front, unless you are only eating farm raised fish the reality is you are eating a rapidly depleated resource. Large swaths of the pacific are virtual deserts. Wild atlantic fisheries are a few generations from collapse with borderless commercial fishing and at sea processing.
Look I eat meat, fish, poultry and dairy so I am not throwing stones but I can't help but feeling it comes down to eating fish is easily justified cause you can't relate to them like an air breathing animal.
