Ok way to store fruits? Making Tea to keep
    #27044308 - 11/17/20 05:56 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Im waiting to pick up my dehydrator from my old place and don't want to lose any potency. Is storing the fruits freshly picked in water jars in the fridge an ok way to store for a few days until cooked into tea and consumed? Or should I cook them now and freeze the tea? Any advice is appreciated. Ive been drying my other less ideal looking fruits on paper toweled plates under a fan but these are too good to let any potency go. Ive heard improper drying like that can lose you some. Ive also heard the alkaloids are water soluble so even if this plan fails it'll have soaked into the water pretty well and ill still cook it... sorry to go on I'm baked lol :stoned:

From what I’ve read, fresh picked fruits can be stored in a brown paper bag in the fridge for up to 3 days before being dried.  But nothing more then 3 days and need to go into the dehydrator after that.  Just another option if you dehydrator is going to be available in the next day or 2.

They last a lot longer than that in a refrigerator. Like a week. Sometimes more as long as the fridge is keeping temps down around 34-35°F/1-2°C. They just need a container that won't trap condensation.

A surprising number of consumer-grade refrigerators only keep the interior around 38-40°F at the lowest setting for some reason. I thought mine was just cheap, but it's a widespread complaint. It's like they're trying to meet energy usage ratings by letting your food spoil.

Where if you're alone, you know, you either come through it or you die, but in any case you avoid the fuss.'"
