Have you noticed that one of the broths is turbid and the other one is clear? And about the inoculation of the LC in the video.. I'm really not trying to bash this writeup but slamming and shaking the knife and lid violently against each other above the sterile broth is probably the very last thing you'd evey wanna do when inoculating an LC. I understand this could be because of difficulties related to your life situation but it kind of looks like your purposefully doing that so I have to ask about that. And could you post an update with pics of the broths with some backlighting? (just means having the lightsource shine from behind the jar, preferably with something inbetween the jar and the lightsource so it's possible to gauge how 'see through' the broth is?) here's an example of how I photograph LC's so that it's extremely easy to see how transparent (or not) the broth is.

i did notice the difference between the 2. you are correct I was careless I will be shooting a new video soon to replace it. You should always keep your movement and hands away from the top of the jar or broth. here is some updated pics hopefully there better, and I will be making a new batch tomorrow probably using the biopsy method. I can't seem to get a good lighted picture so I will have to work on that. thank you for calling me out I need to make sure I am helping more then hurting.

That's because you're shining light from above and from the front (i can see the light source reflecting on the front of the jar) but as I explained the light source needs to come from behind the jar simply because the point of this is to be able to see if light is traveling straight through the broth in a 'straight' line (like through a clear broth) or if light is being diffused and scattered in all directions because it's hitting millions of individual particles inside the broth (bacterial cells)
I'm 100 percent sure you could easily snap a bunch of good photos as long as you just follow the simple instructions, just don't shine light onto the side that you're photographing but instead you photograph the light as it's existing the broth out the front, just try it and let me know if it's still not clear to you I can take a photo from above showing you exactly how the jar and the light source is positioned when I take my pics gl

Next time you make LC you should try this. weigh dry ingredients, weigh cold water. add water to dry ingredients while stirring, fill in flasks en then sterilize. I must say, this works best on a magnetic stirrer but should also work with a whisk.
I also do this with agar, but I think a magnetic stirrer is essential then.

Hey man those are gret pics! Couldn't have done it better myself You got the light source coming from the back and it makes it really simple to observe the light diffusion (or lack thereof) in the broth!
Unfortunately in your case there seems to be 100% turbidity (if you could call it that) full on light diffusion inside the broth making it impossible to see clearly through the broth to the other side. Light is bouncing off particles suspended in the broth and is scattering everywhere. The particles its bouncing off of are bacterial cells. You will clearly see the increase in turbidity if you start photographing your broths in this way daily (that's how you know for sure you've got a bacterial colony in there)
Here is the looks of a broth with zero light diffusion (left pic) and that is completely transparent as it was the day it was taken out of the PC. And the pic on the right is of one that is completely bacterial.
