Inspired by the thread: Rate the last movie you watched
Write a review if you feel like it. I need new books to read.
The fellowship of the ring 7.5/10
I see why tolkien has been made eternal. But his writing can be dry at times. That being said I plan on finishing his works
If you need a place to start I made a list of books to read in journal land. It can be found in my signature

I haven't read much in the 'novels' category but I've read a lot of practical philosophy, Magick texts and the most of the main religious/spiritual texts like Tao Te Ching or Baghadvadgita and such. Books like The Art of War by Sun Tzu is extremely interesting it was written by a Chinese General 2500 years ago and is about what the title says and the cool thing is that today's generals say its 100% relevant to modern warfare and most serious martial artists have read it as have I and I can tell you it's mind blowing the methods described can even be applied in hand to hand combat. I'm recommending this because it's a fairly short read you can finish the book it in a day probably.

Doesn't matter what the subject matter is, drop some reviews.
The bhagavad Gita is my all time favorite
Art of war is good.
Check out the war of art, kinda the art of war for the artist

Half way through Wheel of Time: The Great Hunt
I am listening to the audibook though, Robert Jordan the author is a pain in the ass to read, like I am reading some straight autistic style writing. Great story though, Eye of the World(book 1) is amazing, highly recommend.
These books got me into Brandon Sanderson too, been reading Myst Born which so far is also great. Same with Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny. I am between 3 different fantasy novels, starting to confuse them all but they're all amazing.

I saw a docu called the war of art I wonder of its the same, it was about graffiti artists battling it out to the point of some real drama shit, but i believe you're talking about i book so I might have to check it out.
I like to read about my favorite writers talk about what their favorite writes are and so on, that's always a sure way to find interesting shit. Zen stories and Koans are interesting as hell and short reads usually. Tao Te Ching is by far my favorite in spiritualism category I've read it probably 5-8 times by now. Paulo Coelho and Carlos Castaneda have some neat stuff. Tales of Power is a cool read.
Have you read the Satanic Bible btw?

R.A Salvatore relentless, last book in a series I’ve been reading since like 92. Highly recommend, start with the dark elf trilogy. I have several hundred books on dropbox but don’t know of a way I can share them without revealing my identity.

Yo lil'Deem, that sigil on the forehead in your avatar indicates to me that you maybe have read the Satanic Bible? I heard it's 1000pages or something huge and I'd really love to hear from someone that has read it just to get a sense of what it mainly covers.
And Trypts I don't men to jack your thread lol Ive asked twice now and that should be plenty.

Talking with Strangers - 9/10
Malcolm Gladwell released a book called "Talking with Strangers". In the book he interviews and speaks with different strangers and draws interesting conclusions based on how little we know about the person we're talking to.
He released the book last year I think and the last 2 chapters were almost eerily accurate as he discusses the interactions between police and citizens. It was really strange because he alluded to something popping off and then a few months after the book got released George Floyd got killed.

Just finished "The long earth" series by Stephen Baxter and Terry pratchett. Amazing read. Brilliantly thought out and described with some novels ideas that really have you pondering them long after you've finished

The last book I read was 1984 by Orwell. It’s a good book and funny but deadly serious at the same time.
Wheel of time is one of the greatest stories ever. I agree some of the writing is not so good and I have actually skimmed a few times when re-reading those books. The last 3 of the series that were written by Sanderson are very good though.
Way of kings by Brandon Sanderson. I forget what the series is called but that’s book 1. Fucking epic.
Apathy and other small victories, a quick and funny book.
Empire of the summer moon, a pretty good book about the Comanches and the clash with western expansion
The malazan book of the fallen - a little bit different than other epic fantasy but it’s another cool story.
I mostly like to read for escape and so mostly I like fantasy stuff. There is so much awesomeness out there.

Surprisingly I haven’t, not that there’s a lack of interest I just haven’t bothered to pick it up.
