Have you spent at least a few hours reading and researching all about agar and its uses in the forums here? You can't get overwhelmed and give up if you don't even give it a proper try. Petri dishes will make you're life much easier. Working with agar isn't contamination free, it helps you process cultures by transferring from dish to dish to eventually get that 100% contamination free culture. You can't just expect to put spores on agar and then go straight to grain. Do some reading if you care. Or just stick to MS and BRF

Its possible to just go straight to grain with it, but its less safe than taking a transfer or 2

No. Usually you will get the syringe, put 1 drop on a plate and streak it, wait for growth, it will probably be contaminated (which is fine), transfer a piece of healthy growth (AWAY FROM THE CONTAMS) to a brand new plate of agar and you should get a cleaner culture from that. After 1 or 2 transfers it should be healthy enough for grain.
From this single question you asked it seems like you haven't done the reading or you just don't fully grasp the point of agar.

It is possible. Just depends on whether or not it was made with care.
The benefits of agar are myriad but not needed if one is happy with sticking a needle into a brf cake and getting a few fruits. If, however, you want to a. never have to buy another syringe b. know that you have clean cultures c. know that you can clone and save any genetics you come across d. Know that at any moment in time, iffin you get a wild hair up your ass, you can pull a slant out of the magic fridge and be swimming in magic in no time
Agar is for you. It isn't magic. You still have to learn and do things right.

I am definitely interested in all of that! Thank you guys for the info .. off work in a couple of days and going to try to transfer some of the healthier looking mycelium to fresh agar and see how that goes.. Is it better to start with a spore print instead of Spore syringe or is it pretty much the same results either way..? I have lots of Spore prints the only reason I went from syringe was trying to do the no pour thing and not have to open the jar

Spores in syringes are hydrated so they have that going for them. If they are clean. Prints have better chances of getting clean growth even if the print has a little nasty on it because there is no liquid spreading the nasty all over the show.
