For my first few plates, I just dropped some from my MSS syringe onto agar and swirled it around a bit (in the center). I recently did a few with inoculation loops and found only two of four have germinated so far. None of them looked slimy like your pictures though, so I think you have bacteria on your hands for sure.

Yeah, Im only seeing bacteria growth.
Perhaps the spore solution u made in a petri dish is too dilute? Try make a concentrated spore solution next time.

Hey everybody, here's an update where I'm at right now.
I thought I'd stick it out with the plates I had and see what happens just for my own education on contamination. Glad I did. A few days after my OP I started getting some myc growth (I hope) and have continued reading on making transfers, sterile tek and so forth. I had 6 plates with growth and picked the best 4 to take transfers from. EDIT: looks like I lost a picture of one of them so there's a double here

From these 4 plates I made 9 transfers to fresh Agar I made using D3monic's Agar TEK last week, Distilled water, boiled in pan, strained out chunks, PC'd for a solid 20 minutes, brought to work space to cool while I set up SAB, allowed to cool and poured immediately. I started pouring at 140F so I got some condensation. to fix it I took a page from BOD's agar TEK and used a metal cup with hot water which I placed directly on top of the condensed lids, this takes some time but man is it worth it to remove the condensation which only serves to block your view and act as another source of potential contamination. From there I exposed one outside the SAB accidentally (which proved to be a good deal) because I got 2 different kinds of mold which I allowed to grow out so I could use it for a control/comparison/ personal education purpose. I know the next thing I did is "wrong" but I wanted to see what happens so I took my fresh plates, unwrapped, and placed them in my grow space which is just a closet that's been framed, insulated and finished out in 6mil poly. and a wire rack style shelf system available at any Home Depot, Target, Lowes type place. Aside from the one plate which was exposed I had zero contamination in the last week or so.
Today was transfer day. from the 4 plates I took 9 cuts. Here are the plates after transfers were made although not necessarily in the same order:

And here are the 9 new plates, Wrapped and ready to go on the shelf to see If my Sterile Kung-Fu has improved any.

I'm looking for any comments or advice you might have. I wanted to share this more for you guys with questions about Agar, and why its a good idea. Keep in mind this is my very first set of transfers I've ever made and I'm doing it to try and salvage what was ultimately a disastrous attempt at inoculating petri's from a store bought MS syringe. I've since bought a ton of sterile swabs to try the next time If this doesn't work out.
looking at the pics of the new plates, I thought I'd let you know I think that's fresh condensation. I cant think of anything else that would cause it. once I got done doing the work and having the torch running I noticed the temp in my work space had gone up to about 84F. regardless, I know its not anything nasty, at least not right now, I hope.
also, Myc is holy-shit fragile! 8 cuts went well and the last cut I made, made me think of what cotton candy would look like in front of a blow torch.

This makes me feel happy. Having a good time together while very likely awakening an interest in science. Hope you have a blast!

its a great activity! hands-on science, problem solving, project management, and hopefully a well deserved, hard earned treat at the end!
