TIME FOR FRUITING YET?
    #27038452 - 11/14/20 09:14 AM (3 years, 3 months ago)

Is this ready to be put into fruiting conditions? Has been colonizing under a blanket and in the dark for 7 days. I looked at the tub this morning and seems it might be ready to fruit. What do you think?

Bro, Wtf?

As mentioned in the other thread

If your tub has been spawned then yes; think of spawning as being synonymous with fruiting. If it has been spawned then this condition is the condition
for fruiting.

Don't smother your tubs with blankets. Your substrate requires fresh air. The moment that your grain is mixed into the sub you are already in "fruiting conditions".

There are holes in the tub for a reason. Even if there aren't holes in the tub it still requires fresh air exchange, the tub itself will regulate this. No need to hide it in the dark, cover with a blanket or any other thing you could think of.

Spawn, place under light, walk away and don't fuck with it. If you were successful with generating clean spawn and properly hydrated your coir then there is nothing left for you to do but watch. The tub regulates itself.

So to answer your question directly: Yes, your tub is ready for light. It has been ready for 7 days.

Your tub looks stressed, I'd wager that you have a bacterial infection.

Hmm. What looks stressed about it? I don't layer my substrate, I just mix everything together. I also don't use a casing later or cut holes in the plastic. Never had an issue before. What catches your eye to say bacterial infection?

The mycelium stretching, the discoloration of your substrate, improper surface conditions combined with the knowledge that your tub has restricted airflow leads me to this conclusion. Just look at it, it is not happy...plus you are a noob and the fact that you have been unable to successfully spawn your tub causes me to be dubious regarding your ability to produce clean spawn.

Yet you're telling everyone in another thread that you don't need to modify your tubs. Seems like you don't have the experience to make those claims. Get clean spawn and learn how to spawn your tubs first, bruh.

The substrate is manuer based. As I said never had any problems before. I just crack the lid to my desired humidity preference. This gives plent of free air exchange. Now go put your mask on you Trump hater. Gthoh.

Why start a thread to ask then? edit* (two threads, actually) If this is your SOP that has never failed you in the past then I guess you're gtg:thumbup:

I call bullshit, but whatever. I won't be responding to this thread any further. You have your answer, do what you want.

Here's what I use - a coin as a spacer for  free air exchange, instead of putting holes in the plastic. Works like a charm.

wait so in the past,
You combine your spawn & sub (which I gather is horseshit)
Then promptly wrap it in a blanket, wait until it's one chewy-bar textured piece of mycelium, give it a week's worth of it's own horseshit breath and then when you do the "tadah" moment and pull off the cover- you've got a canopy waiting for you? Do you repeat this cycle per flush?

Yes the holes are a waste of time and not necessary. All u have to do is crack the lid to desired humidity and free air exchange.

So you're saying you basically take a tub, only instead of modifying it,
You leave it... Unmodified?
Do you have a TEK for this groundbreaking science?

There is free air exchange because the design of the lid does not seal it closed all the way. Just crack the lid a little more if necessary. But yes, it is horse manure base along with gypsum and some other ingredients. Works great never had an issue before.

Exactly. It's not necessary to modify them.

The issue is that you started a thread to ask for guidance, which you ignored. You're unpleasant and combative, your unmodified tub crusade is meaningless because nobody would modify the shoeboxes you've incorrectly labeled as tubs, which causes confusion.

Plus your SOP is horse shit.

If you are so experienced that you can make the claim that modified tubs are unnecessary then why are you asking basic beginner questions? Lets see those "works great never had an issue before" results.

Go back to Reddit if you are so fired up to bring politics into every conversation. Whatever side of the isle you are one, you're still an idiot.
