Has your spirit guide advised that spending more equates to humane production?
What happens when during epiphany you find their chickens suffer the same as those 1/4 the cost?

you could always buy lab-grown chicken meat. no, seriously! wait, why are you running away?!? it's humane, better for the environment, and it's just damn tissue cultures!

granted, the texture still needs some tweaking (since they need to be exercised, being, you know, muscles without any chicken attached for exercise and the like) among things like lowered cost, but economy of scale would easily take care of that - lab grown meat is estimated to be far healthier for the environment and cheaper once that takes place, requiring less land use, producing far less methane emissions, less water usage, and of course, no animals are harmed. probably no antibiotic usage or other nasty things needed either - tissue cultures are pretty much done in sterile environments, so the meat would be pretty clean. it kind of need to would be, since it would be missing the animals natural immune defenses and liver/kidneys/etc to defend the cells against toxins and the like.

there's already some experimental products starting to show up, restaurants and the like with lab grown meat, but it will probably be a few years before it starts to become more mainstream - assuming Americans can get over their fear factor.

in the meantime, i guess you could always go for the fake meat products, such as beyond meat, which i hear are pretty good plant based fakes. i've not tried it yet, mostly because i'm not much of a meat eater to begin with <_<; i keep forgetting to try one of those things. they're an OK seller at my store though, which isn't too shabby considering it's a tiny town of a few thousand residents.

If you observe how many people treat each other, you won't be so surprised how they treat some chickens.

I try to buy free range eggs when I can.. never the “organic vegetarian fed” the only way they can certify that is by keeping them in confinement. Chickens eat bugs and grain... I never understood why they would try to market them as vegetarian fed.... vegetarians aren’t eating them.

That’s true, I forgot about that. .. but still. I’m sure it’s mostly for moral reasons in most cases. Lots of buzz words used on packaging to give you a warm and fuzzy and they can charge more. There needs to be stricter labeling requirements and their true definition. I think there’s at least a requirement for “humanely raised” requiring that they have access to clean pasture outdoors ect. I like the ideas of those roving coops.

Eating farm raised animals of any kind is wrong.

Where should the animals be raised if they are to be eaten?
