120g Sub Spectabilis Tea
There isn't a lot of information on Gym Sub Spectabilis Dosage and Prep so here is my experience...
Preparation I chopped the fungi up with a blender into powder. I put the matter into a tea strainer and added some freshly chopped spearmint. I boiled water and let the water sit for 5 minutes before pouring into the mushroom matter.
I poured the water in and let it steep for 30 minutes. I steeped it twice.
I drained it into a small mason jar, filling 3/4 of the jar. I threw it in the fridge for three days until I was ready to consume.
*NOTE- After finding these, I got the help I needed IDing them from three different sources. One of them being this fine site.
Testing Even with what I believed to be a positive ID I still tested to see how my body would react to this species of mushroom. As Cubesence make me sick while Ovoids do not. I decided to drink 10g to test them. I felt nothing, what I did feel I chalked up to be a placebo effect. I did not get sick though, which was the focal point of this experiment.
Consumption and Effects The next day, I wake up and decide to adventure into the forest to forage for some end of the season toadstools. I filled the rest of the premade mason jar with fresh lemon juice and hit the road.
Oct. 10, 2020 - My Favorite Forest -
11:10am It's 75 degrees and late fall. The trees are a million different colors and the floor of the forest is like a sea of fallen leaves. I crossed a small stream and found a beautiful cluster of oyster mushrooms that I harvested. A bit down the creek I rested on a small, bench-shaped sandbank. I sat for several minutes taking in the sun rays and enjoying my surroundings. A voice inside told me to drink up. I pulled the mason jar out and drank half, around 60g.
11:30am My conscience told me to drink half and see how it goes. Being in the woods and solo could potentially be risky if it ends up being really powerful. Letting the sun warm me I sat and enjoyed some cannabis. Ten minutes passed and I decide to continue the hunt.
11:50am I reached my next location close to a pond deep in the woods. It had been 20 minutes since I drank the first half. My mind raced, I thought about the prior 10g tea I drank. I figured I should drink the rest to be sure. I didn’t want to delay too long and get half the effects. I sloshed down the rest of my jar, drops of yellow spore water fell through my beard. I wiped away the excess liquid from my face, looked at my empty jar, and told myself "I'll be fine, it's probably inactive anyway."
I made my way deeper into the forest following the stream feeding the pond. I knew if the mushrooms hit me I'd want to be somewhere no one would accidentally stumble upon me.
12:33pm I came upon a large cluster of Enokitake which is a large orange mushroom with a smooth cap and velvety stripe. If you haven't seen one they are beautiful. As I looked through my camera the mushroom began to glow a bit, like rings of orange haze around them.
Right then my wife called to check-in. I pulled my phone out and immediately knew the Gyms were active. The glow and touch of the phone were clearly representing psychedelic perception I've experienced many times. I answered my phone, told my wife they were active and I'd be a while.
Putting my phone away I collected the Enokitake and started moving forward. With each step, I felt a bit more wobbly and a lot less like hunting. I sat at one of my favorite locations on the stream, far from any possible onlookers.
12:50pm My sitdown quickly became a laydown. The color of the Fall trees is almost indescribable. The colors meshed and separated going in and out of focus. I stayed there on a stone bank for an hour. I had beautiful visuals in the trees, stream, and clouds.
Here's a photo of the trees I was looking through.

1:50pm I sat up after about an hour and was incredibly thankful for the experience and that the Gyms didn't make me sick. I suddenly felt like hunting again. I collected myself and stood up. I wasn't really sure about my motor function but after a few minutes, I found my legs and started finding mushrooms.
I ventured forward delighted as I became aware I was hunting while under the influence of the hunted. It became really amazing moving through the decaying wood and different varieties of fungi. Moss shielded the natural substrate and stumps like a green carpet that produced spinning bonnets and wavy turkey tails. It was a great experience for sure.
4:30pm After several hours of hunting and meditating in different locations of the park I came down entirely. As the sun began setting I began working my way back to the car. I took a lot from this experience personally that's a bit harder to describe.
Thanks to the shroomery for the place to educate me in a safe way. If I didn't have access to all of these resources I don't think my love of mycology would have fruited.

Great write up! Do I have it right that you *did* experience visuals? Also, did you have any laughter or giggling fits?

Confirmation on visuals.
This is worth noting too.. I had eaten cubes some 5 days earlier. So, I imagine I had some tolerance already. If I hadn't eaten the cubes I probably would have been much more visual.
On a scale from 1-5, 5 being DMT visuals. I'd put this around a 2.5 visually. It's hard to put the experience on a scale though.
No laughter or giggling fits to speak of.

Thanks for the info! Given the new paper, sorting out the gyms has caught my eye, this is nice additional data to have.
I'm currently preparing two gym journeys. One with a subspectabilis extract and another with a speciosissimus one. I'm thinking the laughter might come with the speciosissimus. I took your queue and did a very small amount of speciosissimus today, since I've never (unlike subspectabilis) consumed it. No laughter yet, but definite body load.
BTW, while I 100% lean towards your first set of pics being subspecabilis, I'm open to the possibility of the other two being speciosissimus. I'm no expert, but my two journeys also come from patches that were very close to each other and they show somewhat similar differences.
