LC nutritional content

Hi all,
I've been giving LC a couple of tries now, but have not yet been succesful. My lids and jars (afaik) are adequate (syr. filter, SHIP) and have a magnetic stirrir in place. I'm confused by all the different recipies that are out there. Some say to use up to 4% nutritional content, while others say a gram of sugars on 600 ml of water (+- 0.16%) is sufficient. I tried innoculating 3gr LME 1gr glucose/100 ml (4%) with a small agar wedge, but got nothing but sediment. Next tried 1 gr LME/ 100ml water (1%), this time filtering it before sterilization. Tried to inoculate with the agar poke method, but again no growth whatsoever (no sedimentation eiter though so that was nice). I'm using destilled water btw.
Currently 3 new jars are cooling down after PC'ing. They total 500 ml with 0,8 gr LME and 0.2 gr glucose (=0.2%). Anyone here who can tell me their ideal ratio with LME or glucose, and why adding more is bad? (having more nutrients just seems quite favourable to me, but apperently that is not true. I do not understand why.)
Cheers! -Wii

I keep it simple 500ml = 2g lme. so if you only did 250 ml I would only use 1g lme, no need to add anything else.

The more LME or ELME you add to the solution the more you're gonna get caramelization and sediment in your LC.
No need to overthink it, anywhere from 1-2g ELME/LME (I use ELME) in 500ml-750ml is just fine.
I find with the 1-2g ELEM and distilled water per 750ml in my LC quart jars I get a beautiful liquid with very little sediment and never has my LC seemed to need for anything more. I give them a drop of food coloring now because I'm a fairy and like the pretty colors.
If you want your LC to really perform quickly I find a $20-30 magnetic stir plate from Amazon is the cats ass. Start it on a slow stir from the get go then warp speed it before you're going to schlurp it up to inoculate. If you find your LC going faster than you like just use smaller stir bars.

Thanks for the replies! The jars came out of the PC looking nice and clear. Hope to get some results this time! Atleast good to know the 0.2% LME is fine
Cheers
