Fuck I love the pacific northwest. All of these pics are lit. I filled my shroom jar up, totalling 75g dry which I'm wondering, would this amount last 2 people a year?

I have a buddy that would eat that jar in a week.

Fresh mush in a sealedplastic bag will turn to mush before you can get em in the dehydrator.

Some side of the road azzies I saw while driving thru town.

Some walmart shrooms popping up again (stuntzii)

Theres this like 2 mile long patch of these emaciated cyanescens. They all have tiny stems and never get big but theres soooo many I got tired of taking pics because they all look the same and are kinda boring honestly.

Difference between a good night and your last night

Ive got more interesting stuff to post but im gonna wait till later so this post isnt too long.

one more question about personal patches.. whats the best way to harvest from them? like should I be leaving any to rot and propagate the patch for next year or is that done through the cardboard-stem butt method? I dont want to like, clearcut the forest but just curious if you do harvest all the mushrooms from it or not?

You can find them under cedar of course, but they won't grow on cedar.
These were growing in hardwood chips. In a nearby forest there were plenty of woodlovers growing under cedar too... just on ancient fallen trees.
You'd be hard pressed to catch me looking under a non-conifer . You can't see an inch of the ground within 30 ft a maple tree right now.

good to hear! I always get worried when i see them in plastic bags! I always forage with a sturdy cardboard box in my backpack i find it to be simple and effective. I just remember seeing a post where some new hunter picked a ton of beauties and let them sit in a plastic bag overnight only to have them all ruined by morning :frown:

Don't speak of the box! Haha jk, I do this too. Rigid container inside a backpack. I was always on the fence ab revealing techniques in case LEO was/is monitoring. But let's face it, they aren't dumb. Whether they watch the boards or not, they know backpacks hold stuff. And more often than not it's just layers/snacks/gear on bags anyway. Gotta find the shit first, until then you're just a hiker! I always go box/backpack so I don't crush anything I find. Helps with the paranoia too unlike carrying a bag or basket. I've resorted to filling a hat multiple times when I found something and didn't have anything else. Always makes for a sketchy trip back to the parking lot.

*sees LEO*
"Hmmm, hats are for head... He must be a degenerate mush-head.. Come here boy!"

I've never had a run in with cops/rangers personally, but I'm from the south so I don't fuck around. I always have 4-5 back up stories, with at least 2 being honest validatable intentions (exercise the dog, look at birds, etc).

Also when I'm backpackless, dog poop bags are a great way to get them back to the car. In plain sight even, because who wants to touch/inspect a bag of poop?? Having a dog helps too... Kind of ties up the story. Your poop bag sans dog might raise suspicions. But that's the only time anything I find makes it's way into a plastic bag.

Sorry long winded. Keep kicking ass folks
