Is it some king of pholiota?  I found it growing alone and well hidden under a bush.

PANW forest mid october
very light tan, brown spikes
small
growing in leaf litter dirt
no other mush nearby
medium slope
small gills
spikes grow down stem
white spores
tiny spikes on cap

Probably a Lepiota, if the gills are free.

Maybe something like lepiota brunneoincarnata?

the scales are spikey even in the middle of the cap so it's different in that way at first I thought it may be Leucopholiota decorosa, but I don't think that grows in the PNW and it grows on wood, a look at the gill attachment would help to know if it's a Lepiota.

Could it be Lepiota aspera?

I think the gills were attached.  I've returned to that spot but no new mushrooms are growing there.  I don't know what stage of growth I found it in.
