Pasty Plate Recipe x Bod's TEK problem
    #27033152 - 11/11/20 10:23 AM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Exactly as the title says, I used the Pasty Plate recipe with a 500 ml media bottle and followed Bod's TEK with the microwave and shaking and all of that. This is what happened:

I'm thinking the potato flakes didn't fully dissolve and they all settled on the bottom. I'm guessing this means I don't have enough nutrients in the rest of the bottle.

Does anyone have any recommendations for salvaging this bottle and/or what I should do next time to dissolve the potato flakes?

is this before PC, after PC and either way did it solidify?

  • Before PC - PC and pour around 117F
  • After PC - Microwave in short 1 min intervals, shaking the bottle until everything is liquid again. let cool and pour around 117F

I'm pretty sure the settling is fine if this has been allowed to solidify, once you remelt it, it will all mix back together

Oh, that makes complete sense. Once it's liquified again, it should mix together and I can pour from there. Thanks for helping me see the obvious. lol

This is post PC. I went immediately to the refrigerator. I'm waiting on my petri dishes to show up.
