What is a good temp for Grain Spawn?

Hey
Just wondering can you guys please give some advice?
What is the best/right temp to have the jars at for the mycelium to grow on the grain?
I live in Ireland so its getting pretty cold right now. Just coming to the end of libs season. But this is different I know.. So this is why I need advice..
I have inoculated the jars on Sunday night, 3 days ago..
I had PC the grain on its own for 30 mins at 15psi to hydrate
I have PC them in jars for 1.5 hours at 15 PSI.
There is 3 jars, with a vent for gas exchange covered by micropore tape.
Currently, my room will sit at around 20c ish..
I have been keeping them in the hot press, in the dark since Sunday night. This also sits at around 20c constant...
I dont expect to see any growth now but just wondering is this a good temp for them?? Should I move them to make it hotter or colder for them?
I have used a Mckenni culture
Thanks

Hey, I am very new to the forum and relatively new to growing. However answerering your question is simple. 20c is too cold, you probably suspected right? The last jars I had only had 23 degrees and colonization took forever. Now they have around 24-25 degrees and the thrive and go to dense white myc within 14-20 days (with one schwifty shake at 30% colonisation) cheers

Yea I kinda had an idea it might be a bit cold.
But I just find conflicting info online. Some places or things I have seen say 20 is fine..
Everyone has different numbers..
Due to the weather here right now its going to be hard I think.
Has anyone any tips or tricks to get the temp up the few degrees needed??
I have a heat mat there so I might try make some kinda janky tub to put them in.. Not sit on the mat directly but it might generate enough heat inside the box to help it get up them few degrees at least...

Bodhi was here :-D I recommed to check out Bodhis library here Maing, he is the wise yogi of cultivation :-) Turning on the heating would be one idea;-) Use your seeding mat in a tub with indirect heat as you plan, I do the same, works like a charm. I taped a thermometer in for temp control, the mats might differ temperature exertion.

Roughly 18-25C is perfectly fine
Edit: I don't want to sound like I disagree with RR who posted at the same time. I'll say lower temps will slow things down a tad, but won't stop growth entirely. Remember mycelium will still grow in the refrigerator at much colder temps.
Warmer temps are more ideal, but no higher than 25C

Ok thanks
See this is why I ask. I have check few guides/teks online and they all have different temps. But as they are all there own separate things there is no discussion on it.. They just say this is how to do it..
Thanks for the advise so far lads.
even a few different suggestions in here. So that reassures me a bit anyway... Mine are sitting at 20c and 76% humidity. Although I dont know if humidity has a factor at this stage...
Question though... If I dont see any change in about a week or two then I might change it up.. Maybe try and raise the temp. So if I leave it till then will that effect the culture? As by then it will of just have been on the grain in the jar doing feck all for about 2 weeks.

There's going to be maybe a couple day difference in speed. If your grain is going that slow it might just be prepared bad

Ah OK. There is also that factor.. This is my first attempt doing it all myself.. Possible grain is badly preped..
So that could come into play too i guess.. Ill leave it for a few days and see if I get anything...
Like, how much of a difference would it actually make? It was washed, hydrated and PCed. albeit this is my first time doing any of those.
Would it be that badly preped that it would not work at all??

If the moisture content is off yes. New growers have a fetish for making things too wet usually

Yea I dont think its to wet...
I let the grain dry off for a bit before I put it into jars.
Think im goin to put them in a tub to try keep the heat at a good temp. Fuck knows what im going to do when it comes to fruiting..
Ill cross that bridge when I get to it...
Ill worry about the jars first... See if I can even get off the mark with that..
