Fruiting/incubation room/box
    #27031090 - 11/10/20 05:39 AM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Hi, first post on here.. Hopefully it follows regulations.
First, thanks for having me, very excited to be a part of this!

I'm a noob but jumping in deep, I get told to crawl before running all the time.. I know I should, but I won't. Thanks in advance for respecting my life choices 😁

Im planning on making an insulated plywood box (H-4'x W-4'x L-8') for keeping the right temp through winter (in an uninsulated shed). It will have my grain bags and monos in.

I think my question is mainly about FAE but I'm sure the wizards on here will spot plenty more problems with my lovely crumbly dream.

My question: will I have enough FAE for fruiting a few monos by just opening the (quite sealed) ply box once a day? Will put a tiny heater through a decent thermostat and tiny fan inside and some sort of plastic sheeting on the inside walls.

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome :mushroom2::mushroom2:

I am honestly not too sure about FAE in a plywood box, but what springs to mind is the lack of light. Mushrooms can grow in the dark but they do much better with some light. Personally I'd also be concerned about the potential fire hazard of such a setup but it could probably be safely done if you know what you re doing!

Yeah the light! Duh.. Knew I was missing something.

Thanks for the input bud!
