Along with testing they can also provide injection centres. These organisations as well as providing a clean and safe place to inject where overdoses can be treated before it's too late can also provide support, counselling and first step access to rehabilitation. Most junkies don't want to be trapped in their addictions and these services save lives and turn them around.

People aren't normally beginning their career of drug use with heroin
The system and society beats people down and meet other cons/ex cons and you end up doin that shit
If people aren't getting popped for personal use then a lot of those od's and shit wont happen
People wont have to "hide" as much to shoot their dope, a lot of that fiend behavior will go away
Idk if a gram is enough tho
Who wants to go to the hood everyday?
Why cant you pick up a brick and be good for 3 or 4 days?

nooneman said: No matter how legal or illegal drugs are, that's not going to affect how many people use them. People don't decide to use drugs or not just because they're illegal. If people want to try heroin, they're going to do it, and if they don't then they won't. If people want to try a drug they're going to do it no matter how legal or illegal it is.
Drug addiction is a medical problem, not a criminal problem. Making it into a criminal problem only makes it worse. It makes the person more likely to continue their addiction rather than less likely. If you throw an addict in jail, they're still addicted. And then they lose their job, and their place to live, and their significant other, and so you've just provided them massive incentive to go out and get high as fuck on their favorite drug. You've made it harder for them to get another job, harder to get back on their feet, and all of that just drives them further into addiction.
Prohibition doesn't work. It encourages addiction rather than treating it. It makes addiction worse and encourages people to use drugs rather than driving them away from drugs. By criminalizing drug users, you provide them more incentive and more reasons to use drugs, and less incentive to get clean.
This is a fan-fucking-tastic post right here .
People love to argue prohibition encourages use, not addiction, as if one doesn't lead to the other in a slippery slope.
