It is better to cut the fruit or pull/twist pluck?

I twist and pull just because it doesn't leave stumps and is quicker than cutting.

every sub is different IMHO

sometimes you can get away with pulling

others you gotta cut because you literally rip the sub to bits if you try to pull them

treat each tub as an individual. Pull one shroom and you will know if they are gonna come off easy or demolish the sub, then proceed with the rest in the most suitable way

I usually end up cutting them except on cakes, where they seem to be loosely situated most of the time IME

all the best

Depends on the genetics as well. I have some that twist away clean every time. Those were also clones of pins that exhibited the same behavior.

Others will pull up Satan himself if they could taking chunks of substrate with them.

If a pin pops of easily clone it. If it looks like it has roots attached and especially if it pulls up grain toss if.

The ones that pop off will push out multiple flushes. I can get well over 3k g wet in a 54qt from 5 jars spawn.

I also get better results cloning a 3rd flush MS shroom that was grown out from a MS pin. Out performs the first flush pins which goes against what I was taught.

Violet’s posts about pins from grain pitri set me on a right path. I wish I’d found her posts sooner.
