Advice

So I'm using PGTs broke boi tek which uses brown rice in place of grain basically and then I'll be spawning these to coco coir substrate. My question is, I shook the jars when they were about 1/3 colonized less than a week ago and then today, they look like this...Basically looking 100%... should I wait another week to ensure 100% colonization throughout or does the act of shaking the jars mean that they're likely already 100%?

Hard to tell the state from the pics (that foil is nice and crisp tho... ), but the "wait a week for 100%" is for cakes to try to ensure the middle is colonized.

If you shook the jars, it's incredibly unlikely the insides won't be the same as the outside.

If it looks 100%, you can shake one more time as a test to see how it recovers or just go to spawn it.

BTW: once out of the PC and inoculated, you should lose the foil off the jar as all it is doing is impeding air flow. Assuming you have some sort of filer in the lid, that is...

I'm following the tek used by Philly Golden Teacher... I wouldn't normally leave the foil on but he swears by it. Check him out on YouTube
