Organic soil recipes for cannabis

So I’m growing weed again. I did organic before but want to brush up on it, I’m on other forums for this but shroomery are my people.
My current recipe is looking something like this. It will be in pots at least 20-25 gallons.
Base: Sphagnum peat moss Earth worm castings Compost (Oly mountain fish compost, buildasoil)
Aeration - pumice/rice hulls Activated Biochar
Amendments:
Crustacean meal Fishbone meal Karanja cake Neem cake Kelp meal Gro-Kashi (Potentially) insect frass Additional microbes (it’s just from a bag I think) Oyster shell flour
Minerals: Gypsum Glacial rock dust Basalt
Plan is to have a veg tent and a flower then, at first I’ll have a T5 in the veg tent and a 600watt HPS (digital phantom ballast,) in the flower tent until I build my LED. I’m not sure if I should use a big flower bed and have all the plants (during flower) in the flower bed or use 20-30 gallon pots on rollers.

25 gallon pots and t5 for veg? Does not sound it is going to work too good imho. I would use 600 mh for veg with pots that size.
Your mix sounds nice to me. Why neem cake? What does it do?

Well to at least start, I have a 600w MH as well and you’re right I’ll probably have to use it. Neem cake (ahimsa) is good for like pests and I believe it has some nutritional value. There is neem oil that people foliage spray and it’s awesome. I Havnt had a grow using multiple big pots before.
Any suggestions on tent size, and if I should use pots vs flower bed? The mix I posted is from buildasoil.com they have awesome stuff there.

I dont have experience with pots those sized. Look up Soma from Amsterdam. He uses organic beds. But what people have said 250L fabric pots inside in living soil culture rock!
The tent size. Bigger the better imho. it is nice to have extra space. Like how many plants/pots/beds?
Only one 600hps?
Edit: familiar with neem oil, just did not knew that you can use it as cake and bury/mix it in the soil.

I never knew what I was doing for years, and come to find out all those fish bones/leaves/bags of topsoil and charcoal I had been burying around the yard had been building super soil, no to mention the fertilizer organic living compost and stuff like that. No wonder I got good produce.
And it's interesting, last night I was reading about soil and amendments, and it seems like there is a great awakening about good soil. The bio-char makes sense. Also legumes and worms... lots of mulch and lasagna bedding . Till works, but no-till is pretty great too.

Your mix looks top notch! I'm sure the plants would love it. I would give 2 huge thumbs regarding insect frass. I've been using it for years and am certain it shows results in the aroma of the finished product. I've never used neem cake but would assume you would be unable to ensure all the Azadirachtin is throughly flushed out before harvest. I would say benificial nematoads added at every Transplant would do you better and use no chemicals natural though they may be.
@fiery I've never heard of or thought about freshwater herbbage as a fertilizer. From a fishing standpoint I know the local vegetation has the tendency to store lots of heavy metals which may not be ideal for cannabis and fucks over the fishing game some seasons. Also may get fungal/algae contaminants. I'd love to know more though.

To all: say I don't want to make my own mix. Has anyone ever tried the fox farms ocean mix, black gold, or miracle grow potting soil mix with great results? I'm starting some plants next late winter/spring to move out into a greenhouse. I plan on starting the seeds in late feb or march here in CO, then around late april to early may put them in a greenhouse in bigger pots. Maybe 12in or 14in pots?

Royal Gold brand either the basement mix or the tupur mix(same just more perlite). It's fantastic for organic gardening because it's got all the basics and has great drainage. Neutral PH and very affordable compared to ocean forest. It requires supplanting with guano(s), macro/micro nutes and microbes but it's the only soil I'll buy if I don't make my own.

I was thinking about doing one transplant, like starting them in solo cups and putting them in 20-25 gallon pots after that. What do you think?
I might be dumbing down my mix just a bit because it’s a lot of soil and I’m buying really good compost which isn’t cheap.

Fox Farms is pretty alright, as far as "pre-mixed bagged soil" goes it's not shabby at all.
Avoid "miracle grow" ...I wouldn't ever give $ to that corporation/conglomerate even if their soil was decent, which it isn't. Fuck miracle grow.
The past few years I've started my seeds in 1 gallon pots (some I have started in solo cups). Once the plants have a few sets of nodes, at which point they're usually about 8 to 10 inches tall, they are transplanted directly into their final "big" pots (20 & 30 gal fabric pots) or into the ground.
I feel 12 to 14 inch pots, both in regards to diameter and depth, will be too small for a cannabis plant that is going to grow for several months under the sun. I'd go with 20gal at the minimum (which is around 20 diameter x 15.5 depth).
If you don't want to grow big plants don't start the seeds as early as Feb or March. I started my seeds in April last year and by June they were already 3ft+ tall and growing about 1ft a week, they finished around 7ft tall and equally as wide. They would have been about 10+ feet tall and equally as wide if I didn't keep topping and bending/training them down. Granted those plants were in the ground (and in the sunny/dry/warm climate of north-central cali), but they would have filled out a 20 or 30 gal pot with their roots very quickly too. If you're planning on starting seeds as early as Feb or March, I'd say probably plan on going with 30 to 50 gal pots at minimum so those roots have plenty of room to expand. I also suggest fabric pots in general versus a typical black plastic pot.
Plants can get HUGE when grown under the sun and started early like you're planning on doing.

I too feel that Roots is a good brand with quality materials. Fox Farms isn't bad at all though. MG is garbage tho, and so is the conglomerate that it's part of.
"Roots" is what I use....
....Or at least that's what my soil started as 3 years ago. I've been using the same soil the past 3 years. 3 years ago I started with "Roots Original" soil in my 20 & 30 gal fabric pots. But over the years no doubt the overall composition of the soil has changed a bit compared to what it was when it first came out of the bag....
...With multiple top dressings of things like compost, kelp, alfalfa, bone meal, feather meal, etc...Using nettles & mallow & grass used as a layer of mulch on the top soil, worm castings, adding lacto bacillus bacteria and compost teas, mixing in some sandy/loamy soil from my backyard in with it....after all the amendments and various organic materials and what not that I've added over the years and after the coco & peat in the original soil has broken down a bit I imagine the soil is much different now compared to what came out of the bag....
...and much better, soil only gets better over time. I plan on using/recycling that soil for the rest of my life.

Biobizz is good if it is availeble in your side of pond.

It's a more popular brand. Compare the ingredients and set your budget. Roots is amazing and I would totally recommend the 707 mix but cost to quality ratio I'll take basement every time.
